Stormers VS Reds

Stormers have same side as last weekend.
If the continue to gel it will be a very long 80mins for the Reds me thinks

That's the spirit. Stay strong in the face of the coming mauling.

28-16 win for the Stormers
That's what we did last year ;) and look how that went :)

An interesting thing to note with the Reds lineup is they are going for a defensive backline and an attacking forward pack.

St.George Reds team (from fullback): Luke Morahan, Rod Davies, Anthony Faingaa, Mike Harris, Digby Ioane, Quade Cooper, Will Genia (vc), Scott Higginbotham, Beau Robinson, Radike Samo, James Horwill (c), Rob Simmons, James Slipper, James Hanson, Ben Daley.
Reserves: Saia Faingaa, Greg Holmes, Adam Wallace-Harrison, Leroy Houston, Liam Gill, Ian Prior, Will Chambers.

My guess would be it will be close forwards play for the first half and then back play in the second half.

The hype is amazing when it comes to 2 top teams going at it for log supremacy can’t wait for this match either as it could set the tone for the rest of the tourney.

Good luck to both teams on the day I said it once my money will be on the Stormers to take it. Then again anything is possible in rugby we saw it time and again. <O:p</O:p

Reds haven't played a decent team in this competition yet... Sorry reds, it's lights out...

Although I certainly prefer the reds style of play

Stormers aren't as bad as the Bulls in that regard (playing style) but it will still be style vs substance imo and the Reds will get destroyed.

** Ahem**

Only just started watching at the 58th minute, on a rather small T.V., but one can still see that the Stormers aren't fairing to well, I have been told that Vermuelen got a yellow, is this true?

Er yeah when were the Stormers going to maul the Reds? Shows once again all Saffas do is whinge (ZOMG REDS ARE CHEATS!) and overhype their teams....

Argh. Can't believe I pitched up at Newlands for that game. Good win for the Reds getting a 8 point log swing might come back to bite us. They played a territory game and Grant and Aplon just don't get enough distance to get back. Also got the better forward momentum flinging the ball wide fast and moving it away from our driving tacklers.

Congrats on a game very astutely played even if the Aussie fans posting here are very ungracious winners.

Well done to the Reds, outplayed the Stormers.
Stormers never got momentum, never given an inch by the determined Reds

Never thought I would see the Stormers get beaten at their own game. Reds outmuscled them completely. If you come second best at the breakdown, you will lose. Bryan Habana is abysmal, and needs to GTFO of that team. It's very VERY worrying seeing our veterans fail as hard as they are. Spies, Matfield, du Preez, Steyn, Habana... all are so off the pace it's not even funny anymore.

Yea sad but true, I watched the Stormers match it was not that bad compared to the Bulls vs Crusaders match. They will bounce back, the only worrying factor from an South African point of view is the seasoned campaigners not firing. It is a hard call but it needs to be done if those players don’t step up they need to be left out of the starting line up. I won’t back experience over willingness to play the game (Bench the non performer). They need to know that their places aren’t a guarantee for the starting 15 of their province or for the World Cup.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

I am a positive guy and hope this personal will start firing and bring back the pride we have in them. The game against the Lions will be a good game for the Stormers the hit their straps again. The bulls on the other hand have a much greater task against the Reds.<O:p</O:p

Oh boy those earlier comments from certain South African posters are just darling. Beating the Stormers convincingly in Cape Town says everything so I'll just leave it there.

You found it funny in the past?

I have a funny feeling that Bulls are going to rebound, with most of old veterans regaining form, and everyone talking about them being a champion side and there will be an endless run of rugby conversations in SA of how good they are, and watching their games would be unbearable for me because of the commentators constantly bigging them up and probably jizzing behind the scenes...

And its all most likely gonna start in Week 14 :(

Well done to the Reds , out played us in probably all facets of the game. Cooper and Genia was for me the major diffs , I did think they were lucky in many instances to get away with some things but hey thats how it goes , sometimes the ball just bounce your way and I dont think it would have changed the result. Stormers management made some mistakes I feel , biggest one is leaving Duane on after his yellow as he was nowhere when he came back on , too scared to get another yellow so the Reds very cleverly played him out of the game. The yellow was really really stupid anyways and should not even have been a penalty but once again our incompetent refs was shown up.

I think the Reds front row is something special and amazingly the oldest player that started was like 22 ? Shows that age is NOT a factor. So all in all , its a humbling experience once again , but a good loss if there is such a thing and a timely wake up call. We still top the log (SA) and we def not out of it. God luck to the reds for the season , looks like favorites along with the crusaders.

bahaha, arrogant saffas.

Please refrain from generalizing ! I had it 29-21 to the Stormers for instance and thought that the Stormers would have the edge due to the home ground advantage and the fact that the stormers was unbeaten at that stage after all and topping the SA and combined log. So jaa no one is arrogant and your little gloating says more than most predictions re arrogance , you cannot win it all from here so I hope you stick around when your team lose again. S15 is too tough to go unbeaten and still win it at the end. Having said all that , champion side and looking really good ,thought Cooper was lucky with some obstruction runners maybe once or twice and also 2 high tackles of which one was on the bad side but he got away with it and thats how it rolls.

So he wasn't wailing into some guy lying defenseless on the ground or the striking was justified because someone was holding onto him?
