Well if Wales, England or Ireland had played the same NZ side that Munster played, I think there may have been a better chance of tries being scored...[/b]

are you saying scotland aren't good at scoring tries? with a lamont in their backline? sacrelige.

Dont see what the problem is really. I mean if you remove Banahan, Robinson, Shanklin, Thomas, O'Gara, Care, Jenkins, Mears, Vickery, Thomes and Williams that is pretty much the team I would pick.

In fairness they picked that team based on last weekend's European games.

There I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. Then I read about Danny Care having an excellent game on Saturday and realise the guy must be crazy. And then he goes on to say Jonathan Thomas is among the best 6s in world rugby. LMFAO. Nutter.

On the plus side I still think Banahan should be playing 11 for England. Bulk which Monye seriously lacks (although UM had a good game against Stade).

15- Lee Byrne
14- Rob Kearney (either there or 15)
13- O'driscoll (for lack of better)
12 This slot is really open.. don't think I'd pick shankin here
11- Shane Williams
10- Stephen Jones
9 - Cooper
8 - David Wallace
7 - Williams
6 - Thomas
5 - Hines
4 - O'Connell
3 - jenkins
2 - Flannery
1 - Vickery

I know its all about opinion but Cooper at 9 is a joke. He is poor week in and out for Glaws and isnt fit to lace the boots of Peel.

I ment Peel actually .. I always get confused between them.. and I have no idea why cooper has been starting:S

I wonder which players might appeal more to McGeechan, in terms of players that add to spirit (see what he has previously said about Leonard and Rowntree for examples).

I reckon Jason White would be a great tourist simply as his big hits can lift the whole side. Also i think Delon Armitage's attitude to giving his all in the autumn would have impressed.

I would have to say Jones for 10.. as much as I like O'Gara.. Jones is a more solid player I think.. and if he's off form then you have O'Gara to come in

I don't care when they picked these guys and what the form was based on. You don't pick Vickery or O'Gara. You. Don't. Pick. Tom. Shanklin. Its just going to go horribly, horribly wrong especially when you have a Lions Team where the tight five can out-run the number twelve!

What peaches are Sky Sports going to throw up next week?! Noon & Tindall at center with Dan Parks at ten?!

The things that Jake White said were pivotal to the Springboks success at the RWC was experience and the utter demolition of the opposing forward pack.

People said he was crazy when In 2004 he recalled Montgomery from his party in Wales and brought Os Du Randt back after 3 years out of international rugby. Experience counts. The team that won the RWC had the highest ever no. caps for a starting XV.

If the Lions want to stand a chance, I reckon (and I know i'm right) that they need ballsy, gritty, experienced players and also a sprinkling of youthful, exciting players who can produce some magic in the loose and out wide (something you chaps unfortunately seem to lack atm).

Though I don't watch your rugby consistently, from what I've seen that Powell is the right type of player, as is Martyn Williams (though from what you reckon he's now kak)

The best bet will be a hardcore mongrel forward pack with a few experienced heads in the backline at the positions of 10,12,15. The rest of the backs should be made up of players in the best form.

That is at least how I would do it. But what do I know, I'm not an international rugby coach.

I have to agree with that, some golden oldies with experience and a nice dab of youth.

So how do you think will be the youngest? and oldest player in the lions starting 15?
