Not a big loss for the banana boys considering they have Steyn, Jordaan and Whitehead to call on but the sum of all these guys leaving is getting alarming to me. Particularly in light of the host of SAns jogging out for France recently and playing in Ireland as 'project' players; not just the has-beens pushing off for a pension fund any more.
Look at the Super Rugby tournament. Couple of injuries and the Sharks and Stormers struggle. Depth not as big as the Bulls who got the talent stocked up there in the north. In fact the Blue Bulls u/20 team is playing France in the JWC.Are four players in positions of strength for S.A. really such a worry?
Bulls have always been prevalent in the U20. Whether it is selection bias or skill is up for debate.Look at the Super Rugby tournament. Couple of injuries and the Sharks and Stormers struggle. Bosman leaving is not really an issue due to the depth we have at center (Who'd thought 2 years ago huh?) but I worry more about guys like CJ Stander leaving SA, as mentioned, is more worrying. Depth is key in tournaments like Super Rugby, but these young guns are too eager to fill their pockets if things don't go their way.
Poor FreestateRead this guys, some things coming to the fore now
Very very very happy J Smit will shake things up, good for SA rugby and great for the Sharks as van Zyl was always a dick in my eyes
