RWC Semi Final: France - Wales (15-08-2011, 21:00)

Should have replaced honest by stupid.

If your gonna be like that then i could take apart the grammar in your post, but I'm not going to.

Its called an opinion. Its an internet forum, so everyone is entitled to one ;) (doesn't mean that everyone will agree or listen)

Was just pointing out the fact that a side with a one man advantage for the majority of a match (62 minutes if BBC are correct) could not score a try.....

Just looking forward to tomorrows semi final and 3rd place play-off now!! woop woop

Guttered for the welsh (I know shock for an englishman to say) never should have been a red card and to be honest I think it killed the game. I reckon the welsh would have won the game with a couple of tries

From what I seen, France sat on their lead and nearly paid for it too—but they just didn't seem to care.

Thats exactly what they did. They didn't even go for tries and were just content to just play territory and go for droppies and penalties. Can understand the logic as they were 1 player up for the majority but I thought they would have ripped them to shreds eventually if they just held the ball and attacked, wasn't in their tactics though.

They seemed to look at the situation like, "what's the point in wasting the energy?" They wasted little energy on their semi final opponents, will also have more time off before the final than their opponents, and their top players are 100 percent.

It was frustrating to see france play how the above have described. They were content to "not" play and just win by 1. Almost insulting to the opposition. But hey, a wins a win! Wish them the best of luck, gonna be interesting to see if they continue that tactic in final!!

I agree with you actually, which is why I pointed it out the way I did, but what would you want Wales to do in that type of situation? I'd prefer my team take it easy, take no risks, and pack it in for the final. I consider that in all probability the All Blacks and Wallabies are going to mess each other up and whoever wins could be even worse off come the final. Good news for their opponents.

Very true actually, they'll be good to go physically next week. I've written them off completely however :D NZ or Aus will pummell them. They don't impress me much at all. They've played their one good match ... against what was probably a hungover England team.

I'm not too sure about that. From what they said after the match, they were too afraid to lose and couldn't develop their game. They decided to play territory after they realized that.

Well done to the French side, I had money on them so it was a good night for me last night.

You gotta feel for the Welsh, they been looking great all world cup but it was Frances night last night.

That's called letting the media eat some BS. :)

Well done Wales. Great game. France making it to the finals? Don't deserve it. Look out for Wales in the coming years and the next world cup.. Awesome team.

Just saw the replay, and it was a crappy game under crappy conditions but someone had to win. The red card might have changed the game, but that can always be argued. What would have changed the game is if Wales had been successful with their kicks. Instead at getting angry at things out of your control, ie a ref's decision, focus on what you can do to make your team better. I am happy France won, not how they did it, but don't agree with posters that say Wales deserved to win. To quote Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven, "DESERVING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT" Play better and then you don't have to worry about a ref's decision.

I do like the way that as I am trying to defend Rolland for enforcing the IRB laws, on facebook, I am getting abuse left, right and center. As I asked on facebook, are some Welsh fans related to Samoan fans?

Thats why Im annoyed at some of our TRF posters, when us Samoans were frusterated at a reff (which IMO is not why we lost) a whole bunch of posters here were talking along the lines of the Samoans needing to get a chill pill. BUT NOW when the South Africans or Welsh lose, no-one is defending the reff this time roun, no-one is posting things like...'thats disgusting what they're writing about Alain Rolland or Bryce Lawrence'.

Except for Gavin here, I think hes the only one.

They won, they deserve it.

That Facebook page is pathetic and yes, it is disgusting what people are saying about the refs.

Time for those people to grow up.

Well my search for Estabenez's tackle have turned up fruitless... But from what people who did see have told me have said that it looked worse than Warburtons (picked the player up and physically driven them head first into the ground). Hufanga did one in that match too, only yellowed as well. I'm almost certain that both would fall under the same catagory as Warburtons, so why weren't they red carded as this 'Dangerous Tackle Memo' that people have posted here would reccomend? People don't seem to care because it was 'just a pool game' and not a semi final. That's wrong imo, as all games and all calls should be refereed the same. Pointless putting this memo in if it's only going to be used in some games. It's the inconsistency that has angered me the most

Problem is and I am getting a little cheesed off by a few members starting to generalise e.g. Welsh fans, TRF members etc ... I am sorry but I think you find most of the Welsh posters have accepted that it was a red card (yellow for some) offence and I don't think these people have agreed or said anything like what is being said in those groups.

When Nigel was under pressure, it was his private life that was being attacked and by a professional rugby player, all of which was quite frankly disgusting. There was one or two ... WUMs / Trolls of whom which agreed with Sapolu. Hence the up roar.

Stop the general assumption or at least give the names of people who you are talking about.

Thats digusting whay they're writing about Alain Rolland or Bryce Lawrence. Good on Rolland for having the balls to give a red card in such a match. Completely Warburtons fault for testing the ref in the first place and a dumb tackle at that. It was always going to be a card of some sort. As long as if there is another tackle like that and it ends in a sending off its all good. Players should know better to not do anything even remotely dodgy in a finals match, Warbutrton did and paid the price.
