RWC: France - Japan (10-09-2011, 18:00)

No Idea but guess they had to use their away kit so they didn't clash with the ref, possibly???

I'm usually the first to defend refs. But Steve Walsh stuffed that big time. He took his eyes off the ball.

Poor officiating. I was struggling at first to figure out how the ball ended up where it did but after seeing the replay that try shouldn't have been allowed.

Pretty sure you can't just get up off the ground and start running once you've been tackled??!! Weird decision from the ref.

Yea, the ref will usually find out what colours the teams are wearing before he chooses his.

France are letting themselves down big time. They could have scored about 6 or 7 tries with the opportunities they've already had.

Is Steve Walsh not watching this game? Missing blatant knock ons. Also, I can't stand how here are penalties at scrum time. If your lineout sucks then you lose the ball, if your scrum sucks then you give up 3 points.. I don't get it. Should be free kicks so the better scrumming team gets possession rather than a shot at goal. Especially as half the time it's guess work.

The only mistake i've seen him make was the "not releasing" which lead to the first try. On everything else he is being strict while giving a lot of advantage.

The scrum penalties are fine, the Japan #3 is being dominated. You can't give a free-kick for anything that happens after the ball is fed in. The only free-kickable offences are things like "early engagement", "foot up" or "not straight".

Even tho the French side is stronger than the Japan side, the Japanese are playing some great rugby, very enjoyable match to watch...

Come on Japan!

The French are absolutely dominating the scrums and get another penalty...
