Rugby 2012 Team Ratings?

By the way, Savage, when you say over the last three years you mean 2006-2009 right? As South Africa hasn't played the All Blacks this year.

But the results show, from 2006-2009,

All Blacks = Won 6

Springboks = Won 5

So when you say dominate, I am confused. Maybe this years tri-nations would be the best indicator as to who is the best in the world, yeah? Because you are only as good as your last game, and the tri-nations is forgotten, this years tri-nations is important which is about 4 weeks away? I'd love to see you stick around for those, whatever the result I'm sure you will be either extremely quiet or more mouthy than ever.

Please stick around on the forum though, I love having a ***** to slap around a bit.

When South Africa play them at the end of year tours they have to take quota players on tour so that the team is representative of the race (colour) in the country!
This is why South Africa are weaker at the end of year tours. Go look at the incoming tour results in the SA winter. South Africa thrash all Northern Hemisphere sides at that time of the year. Politicians unfortunately have too much say and the coaches want to keep their jobs so they oblige. If South Africa could choose purely on quality no team in the world would stand a chanceagainst South Africa.

Oh yes, that glorious down-trowing of SA in THEIR OWN BACKYARD! I can't remember the last time a NZ team had been left scoreless by a Bok team... :p


Couldn't care less if the Boks are rated more than the ABs. It'd be like the boks = 94, All Blacks = 92 or 93.


I don't get where this "domination" by Bok teams of AB teams comes from though. :lol:
 

I am actually talking about South Africa's last couple of matches. There is no doubt that NZ have dominated world rugby in general. I am just saying that this current South African team have won the last three games against NZ in a row and 4 out of the last 6 games. They also held all trophies available to them at one point last year. No Test Nation has ever done that before!

If NZ win the Tri Nations this year, then great, I will not have a leg to stand on. I am talking current rankings, not past, not future. We were asked to give current ranking by HB Studios. It should not be an argument! The rankings are going to change by the time the game is developed anyway, no use arguing.

How else are you going to get the most current rating for the RUGBY 2012 game, duh! Let's use the last three matches then if that is more current, SA have routed NZ 3 out 3. I am trying to give NZ a better rating out of the last 6 games, more realistic of late.

I am talking about the South African Test side mate, we are trying to rate them not the juniors or the sevens (different sport code) and South Africa don't play in the 6 nations. Just out of interest, South Africa thrashed the 2010 Six nations champs, France 2 weeks ago.

I like the current IRB ranking system as it is accurate over a long period of time, but it is not a true reflection for the Rugby 2012 game.
Australia are ranked correctly for example but their rating is way too low, the same applies to the current England and Scottish side. Scotland have got a good side at the moment but due to close losses etc the IRB ranking system does not account for the close losses. It would not be fair to generate a game and to have Scotland losing all their top games due to ranking same go's for England. They can beat anybody on a given day.

And... as mentioned in many posts. SA have beaten NZ 3/3 in their most recent matches, they are Tri Nations and Super 14 champs. So on recent performences they should be above NZ in the game for ranking purposes.

I have stated this before as well. If NZ beat SA in the up and coming Tri Nations then that would change my current opinion. For now SA still on top! I want to see NZ beat SA 2or 3 times for that to change and I will be the first to agree!

I'm always majorly surprised at the apparent lack of respect for the boks. They've a winning record (and that at a pretty decent margin) against all countries they've played against except for the All Blacks, and this they only lost in a time following their ten odd year exclusion from Test Rugby! I'd hazard to say they would never have lost the upper hand had it not been for this crappy apartheid ban! but granted those are ifs and buts, not worth a discussion just a theory. But remember in the era where the Blacks dominated there has been a lot more games played, so if you have a good team for five years in the modern era it's like having had a good team for about thirty years in the amateur era... so actually even though a team like the boks are behind the blacks on games won, their domination period has been much longer! But I agree with those who say we should go on the last four to five years form, in which case (and maybe this bodes well for the true return of the springbok) SA Rugby as a whole has been dominant. I wouldn't rate them much higher than the blacks but team three must definitely be much, much lower if we're honest! All in all we have to admit: Rugby IS Green and Black!
 
I don't rate New Zealand as better than us, but i don't rate us as better than New Zealand. It's up and down really. Why not have them both with the same score? Or do a FIFA and rate all of the Top tier teams with 5 stars, then just fluctuate between attack, defense and 'flair' or 'team chemistry'? Otherwise just use the World Rankings system. New Zealand are ranked number one. It would only be fair if they are the highest ranked team. If it were up to me though, i would give them an equal rating. Funny how most of the guys have teams like England and France with the same score, or Ireland and France. But nobody wants to give New Zealand and South Africa the same rating. LOL!

Umaga just felt he had done enough for his kingdom[world of rugby] so he stood down. But now he realises that there are peasants amongst the kingdom he once ruled so he is ready to make a return to the throne and once again claim the ***le, "World's Greatest Centre"....

I wonder what ***le D'Arcy has claimed,.... "Who's D'Arcy?"
