I know a few players are in club like the Crusaders and Bulls for example, make up the majority of their international sides, but the other thing about a team is the coaching staff, which people seem to over look, like now, Graham Henry with his new squad has proved what an idiot he is and players like PDV, also proving what an idiot he is. But teams like the Wallabies, crap Super 14 teams, average players, but Robbie Deans is an exceptional coach and brings out a lot in the team, that is the difference between a club and an international side, the better level of the coach.

Yes, he is obviously a South African saying he is a Scotsman so he doesn't appear to be biased. I bet he chose Scotland as they are the most neutral country, no one can hate them as they don't upset anyone, have started 0 wars and have little to no racism.

Have a look at theses stats:

Overall: Ireland vs. SA - Played 19, Ireland won 4, SA won 14, Drawn 1

South Africa have never lost to Ireland in South Africa. Ireland need to travel to SA again to get Routed. Ireland have played there last 4 matches vs. SA in Ireland. They would get smashed in SA as usual. Even the British Lions who make up the best of Ireland etc did not beat SA in SA!

SA thrashed France 42-17 in SA this year and narrowly lost to them 12-20 in France last year. On points difference SA take that hands down.

Listen, Paddy Scotsman, it's pretty clear that despite your little statistics Carter is by and large the best fly half in the world. If you wanna quote statistics; Carter is the top points scorer in super 12/14 history.

and i think it is quite relavent that we have beaten you the last 3 times...albeit with home advantage and you cannot say because the lions were beaten that we would be beaten too ..the lions are an amalgamation of the best players..who most have never played toghether but head down south for the craic

No doubt, Carter is one of the best flyhalf the world has seen. All I am saying is that Morne Steyn is currently performing better than Carter is currently. I am not saying that Steyn is better than Carter was when he was on top of the world! Oh, and with regards to the SA vs NZ record I did not say it was irrelevent, go back and look at the posts. I agree that as far as history goes NZ edge SA no doubt. That was a different topic: We were asked to rank teams for the Rugby 2012 game and on current form and stats SA's edged NZ.

Can't agree more and when the Rugby 2012 game is made I hope developers can incorporate something that will prove to be an accurate simulation.

Eg: When SA play in Ireland, Ireland should beat SA if the games are simulated and visa versa when the games are played in SA.

Maybe HB should include a rating along with away game consistency rating (if accurate simulation is wanted).
definetly agree with the team rating changes with who is included in the side. Ratings fluctuate depending on players in starting 15. I remember in rugby 06 (i think) where for fun u put all the best players into one side (in my case "Neath Swansea") and their ratings were still like 60 somin or whatever they were although the whole side contained star players its a little picky but every little helps. Obviously the international sides will go by irb ratings for overall but indivs stats will differ

It should be rather easy to implemet> The IRB rankings take home and away matches into account with an easy formula. they add 3 points to their existing rating to handicap the home team. This rating system or formulal could be implemeted in the simulation situation.

yer i know, but if people want "true realism" i guess you gotta be slightly picky, although more established franchises don't even do that stuff
as long as teams get the justice they deserve (which i believe will be highly influences by us lot on this forum) I will be happy
