I can't say too much at this stage, but it's looking very unlikely that online play will feature in certain platforms....

Before everybody gets too excited, I have to tell you that

a) I haven't seen ANY kind of footage from this game yet

and

The date that I'm supposed to be getting an in depth look isn't guaranteed

However, as most of you know with the info I gave on previous Rugby games, I give you my word, as soon as I get the info I'm promised, you'll be the first to hear about it!

I wouldnt put money on the X-Box being online, Microsoft have that long running tiff with EA Sports

Thats been resolved I think as the exclusivity between them and sony (for online) is over and the 2005 series is on Xbox live now.

I expect info after Christmas/early January, based on nothing but the fact it will only have 3 months to go.

Also, if the XBox version had online play surely the PC version would as well?

yea probably will, i remember fifa05 i think had the same thing where PS2 had online play and the PC wasn't. But as it turned out u can play online with pc too.

well this will be the third game in the series so online play could be one of the new features that is added and if it isn't well i'm not going to go out and by an x-box

Well they practically started the game from scratch again, for the 3rd time although they had the engine already via fifa

i wonder how the online play would go if we do get it. I haven't played fifa05 so i don't know how their online thing works. I guess it would just be like playing single player and adding the the ablity to play online shouldn't be too hard to do.

well considering online play is in fifa i guees they could just do it the same way and most gamestened tohave thetopion of going through gamespy arcarde thesee days which if rugby wouldn't be too bad. would get bit trickier if they didn't go through gamespy or something similar but not impossible to do

yea gamespy probably the most popular, a few other programs i see when i got to internet cafes but gamespy is what i use not too bad either.

no doubt it will be in depth of course and will get the locksley treatment which means lots of info and maybe videos and screeshots. His look at the nrl league game and rugby 2004 were brilliant and no doubt the same will happen with rugby 2005
