Rugby 2005

if it's fun i'll play it. The stats and master league will keep me on it for a long time, but the gameplay has to be good!

Yep, get the fundamentals right. And then I want custom team mode! Must have cause they're a right laugh.

the one thing i care about is having all the zurich prem teams in there somehow seeing as we we are world champions
<
it seems only fair

but like last year i bet they only have the heineken cup which is a shame
cant wait till the first info is released and we can see for ourselfs

They've already said that the ZP will be included I thought.

dunno, they said they had the european licenses, which they didn't have in 04, which could mean the heineken cup.

i hope this news dus cum quite early as im realy lookin 4ward 2 this game
<
I remain sceptical until proven wrong. [/b]
I am with u Muse

Bring on WCR2

Rugby 2005 can come out in 2006 for all i care

Atleast maybe thats how long they need to make a decent game

It seems just as rushed as 2004, and to be more negative, its still made by the same idiots!!!

I dont care what new resources they have

If u aint got the brains, no money in the world can save u from humiliation

my point being the grubber kick in goal, and u score but its a 22m kick
and when u missed a goal it was not play on if it fell short
just a few idiotic made up rules pulled from the land of the maple leaf

Yeah, with what was included in 04 it doesn't give you much hope... they don't know the game as well as they should to make a good game... maybe they do but i would doubt it heavily... imagine if that goal kick bug was still in 05

I agree to a certain extent, but I'm not looking forward to WCR 2 in any way shape or form... to me that game was just as bad as Rugby 2004, just for different reasons and I'm certainly not buying any sequel to it unless they decide to make the game like "rugby" instead of some sort of smash and bash em running game with no deapth...

Well if Rugby 2005 has FIFA graphics as stated, that will be a great feature of the game, if all/most players have accurate likenesses

It doesn't seem rushed as in the time period, as Cricket 2004 came out late last year and Rugby 2005 has presumably been in development since then, which is a pretty long time.

From what we've read so far Rugby 2005 has the basic stuff done right. Lot's of modes and nice graphics (assuming that they don't dick the Fifa graphic engine around). It's the complex stuff that might trip Rugby 2005 up: The gameplay. That's what we need reviews/videos/locksley and eventually a demo for.

WCR2 has no info, I look forward to it anyway. I look forward to any rugby game.

I'm still hoping for a Sidhe union game, I enjoyed SJRL more than the union games and I like union a lot better than league.

I'm guessing wcr2 will be released late next year, as they have BLIC due out in june/july but they are working on it now so you never know. As for SJRL2 i think they have started work on it some way shape or form, i think Mario said they have tweaked the engine this year so a sequel would have much better visuals. Have to wait and see i suppose

We haven't announced anything regarding a sequel to Rugby League, but I am hoping to have some positive news in January (which I will of course post here).

On the subject of our technology, we have multiple games in development and have advanced our engine considerably since the release of Rugby League. These improvements would of course translate across to a possible Rugby League sequel and raise the visual quality (amongst other things).

Ok thanks, sounds good.

Yeah, they sound as if they are already working on WCR2 so a very late 2005 to mid 2006 is probably about right for a release of that.

We'll probably get one more round of everything (WCR2, Cricket 2006, SJRL2, Rugby 2005, BLIC) before the next console generation, maybe even a couple in EA Rugby's case.

Yeah, but what would be more profitable to develop for? Not many people will have ps3 or xbox2 as soon as they come out, so they could keep developing for ps2 etc.. fifa2005 is still made for the ps1!

my point was u need more than 365 days prep to make a decent rugby game, history proves this

Rugby 2004 was a year in development (obviously not enuff, how **** was it)
Rugby 2005 is presumably a year in development (as above, seems too similiar)

they are twin sisters and handicapped at that

Rugby 2005 has had the same attention and life span of development as Rugby 2004...........only thing publicly known as being different is the FIFA stuff,

As for the new NRL - that should not come out till 2007..........more than years prep is needed here aswell

The only game i have ever known to get a complete overhaul facelift within a 365 days period and succeed is when Tiger Woods went from 2003, to 2004.

Rugby 2004 needs a complete overhaul
NRL needs a complete overhaul (still good for it 1st ever game)

Unless HB studio has 10 times the employees and 200% times the budget as the year 2004, this projects look doom and gloom, unless a good amount of time is spent ie more than 365 days development
The foundations need to be re-written, unlike PES4 and Madden where they only need 365 days to notch up a few options and tweaks, coz the 2002 foundations are already in place.
Maybe if Rugby 2004 had the FIFA engine, then this 2005 would be alot better.
That debacle of 2004 set them back 1 full years in the franchise.

The budget for 2005 is in the millions, a lot more than 2004. Rugby 2005 probably started development at the end of 2003, which will give it about 16 months in development.
