Rugby 2005

I have a copy of Rugby for PS2 signed by Lote Tuquiri. It was signed the day after he announced he was crossing to union. Don't ask...

What do you think its worth anyway?
The signature - $2.50
The game - free of charge

You might be able to get $50 for it. It would probably be more worth your while if you just hung on to it for sentimental value.

if only rugby04 was as good as brian lara cricket or fifa that way u could get a fair bit of cash for that. Tuqiri's signature will be worht more than the game.

Can't wait to see how this new game goes about time we got a good rugby game

jeeezus!!! why dont the mudbludgers at ea just give us something f*** there a pack of wankers!!! excusemoi france'

We must be getting close to a bit of news, surely. Maybe they're doing this on purpose, to build up some hype. But as umosay said in another thread they're probably still playing around with the idea of online play, which most probably is the reason why they've been holding back.

Early January i reckon. Some games release info early, some not till very late... remember what happened with '04, was it a good thing having info so early, then getting a crap product? They'll probably do what they did with cricket2004 when they said they would make a site and that never happened.

true typical EA stuff, lets hope they are using fifa's engine and using more spealist people, if there is online play it is worth waiting a few months for detail

i found this from a guy whos working on Rugby 2005

------

Jason James

***le: Modeler, Texture Artist, and 2D Animator
Company: HB Studios
Home: Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada

Current Projects:
I'm currently working on Rugby 2005 for EA Sports. Unfortunately, I can't show any work for it yet as the game has not yet been completed.

Jason now lives in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia working on Rugby 2005 for EA Sports. He's been working on the player models and stadiums for the game and has learned a lot from the experience.

hmmmm http://rugby365.com/Competitions/EA_Sports/index.shtml

That looks like telstra stadium, but it can't be 2004 because it didnt have that huge shadow over the ground... hmm but the write up about it is 2004

Also some other random info from a guy at HB

"May 5th, 2004 marked the first day of my new job at HB Studios. HB Studios develops Rugby and Cricket for EA. I will be working on the ingame overlays for Rugby 2005. So far I really enjoy the job, the atmosphere there, and the people."

"Wednesday: I attended a sing/chant session at work where we sang, chanted and yelled random stuff. The sounds from that night will be used in Rugby 2005 if they sound alright once they are editted. It'll be cool to be able to pick out the different people's voices and stuff in the finished game."

That sounds stupid... Why wouldn't they use real crowds to put in the game. How is a few people singing and chanting going to sound like a real crowd? Yeah that's defiantely Telstra Stadium, I can tell by the roof. Maybe they just copy and pasted that paragraph to advertise for the new game. I mean it does say 'Click here to win Rugby 2005'. How old is that page umosay?

Recent as of yesterday i think, btw they do that chanting thing for FIFA too, go get the fans to sing and then mod it so it sounds like it's in with a real crowd

Oh okay, I wasn't aware. Well it sounds good on Fifa so I don't see why it shouldn't sound the same on here. I guess they'll have the same noises for every game then huh.. Did you fill out your details for that competition? Maybe someone should inform them that it is R2005 not 2004.

i'm sorry but i dont care what other games they used it in, if u dont use a recording of a real match u are already using a 5 yrd old practise

every new game uses an official recording, except it appears FIFA

but either way FIFA had nothing on the noise u got in PES3 or 4, when u score

this game once again appears half assed prepared, half assed committment, and again half assed funded

these pricks at HB make a mockery of our sport

even this programmer - the way he talks makes him sound like a 17yr old kid on work experience.
Highly unprofessional - everything thus far is highly unprofessional - the lack of info, and the way they fish for answers when asked questions

i can get a read up on games due for release in 6 months - yet nothing on rugby 2005

another rushed, secret attempt is in the works - ala rugby 2k4

PRINT THIS OFF, AND HOPEFULLY U BOYS CAN WRITE ME OFF IF ITS ANY GOOD! (I HOPE I AM WRONG)

Yeah I don't know if you should be so sure right away. It does sound a bit sus, but soon enough we will see. Have they said anything about a demo for this game?

They (EA) haven't said anything about the game.

Just checking. I guess not even locksley has had any luck in finding any information on this game.
