Rugby 2005

They only release little snippets at a time. I want a fully fledged preview with screen shots and all. Can we expect this before new years if the game does come out at around March time?

Let's just not all get too excited like we did last time

EA Rugby 2005 Announced

Electronic Arts confirms that Rugby will be returning to the market next year…

EA have announced that they will be releasing Rugby 2005 next year for Xbox, PlayStation2, and PC. The franchise will feature teams from the Super 12, the European Cup and the Tri-Nations amongst others, so get ready to don your skull caps.

We'll have more news on Rugby 2005 shortly…

-----------------------------------

shortly huh?

Rugby 2005 is like a rash that you've been told not to itch, but you can't resist.....

Though I loathed rugby 2004 (and the developers behind it), I still have this voice in my head saying that rugby 2005 could be the one...........(i mean is it really possible to stuff up so badly again??)

All I can say is BE STRONG!!!!!!!! Hire before you buy, and don't get sucked into the hype before a preview by a non biased website (ie. NOT Gameplanet) appears.......

i reckon shortly means quite soon considering A spring release date the news should be ou hopefully, but cosidering its EA and considering its a rugby game it could be quite early 2005

1. When you search up a site, it will have "Translate this page" beside the link. Click that.
OR
2. Go to the front page, then Language Tools, then follow what it says.

heres a tiny piece from someone who has seen footage

"A little off topic, but I also got to play MOH Pacific assault, the new Goldeneye game, The 2 new LOTR games (one of wich is only about 80% complete) and a few others that werent really that exciting.
Oh... and i got to see footage from Rugby 2005... and it looks SOOOOOOO much better than the older versions."

got it from a forum somewhere

Heres the reply, his forum name is 'Chrus'

"Hi there.

Im not really a rugby fan, so i wasnt paying a lot of attention to what they were saying about it, but heres what i remember.

They were saying that all the previous Rugby games had been made at EA Australia on a pretty small budget, and 2005 is being made at EA Canada, which is huge, and but budget for this one was somewhere in the millions... cant remember exact amount though, but its a LOT more.

The main thing is that they are doing it in canada... Over there, the have different teams of peoples to work on each aspect of the game, ie: one team for player heads, another team for the stadiums, etc. But in australia its one team that does everything, noone specialises in anything.

They used a lot of motion capture too. The NZ team was in Canada so they went to the studio and did a lot of stuff with motion capture so everything looks right... they even did the Haka so it looks good in one of the cut scenes.

The footage i saw was only about 80% complete, but it still looked pretty damn good... much better than previous versions.

Oh yeah... they added a few more modes to the game as well... stuff like training and that type of stuff... it even explains about the game, and the rules etc, so peoples who dont know Rugby can learn to play.

I think they added more teams and stuff like creat your own team."

Sounds good about the budget thing

Well he sounded pretty vague, but the thing I like is the end, "I think they added ... stuff like create your own team."

It's strange about the thing where they made Rugby 2004 though, it doesn't really matter because either way they are using a different and better studio now.

Only four months until expected release now, a press release with some screenshots would be nice right about now.

i hope they can make this game good, because we all know if it is good it will be the only game we ever play again

Theres one thing i'm sure of, it won't be as bad as rugby 2004

I have a copy of Rugby for PS2 signed by Lote Tuquiri. It was signed the day after he announced he was crossing to union. Don't ask...

What do you think its worth anyway?
