Piers O'Connor has been quietly impressive again. I'm also surprised that no-one has picked up on young Sam Simmonds...

Hepburn looks so small for a top level prop - most backrowers look bigger than him, and more than a few centres

It is odd. There have been quite a few times in the past where he's been the smallest man in the pack as long as Simmonds isn't starting.

Well played Exe, totally deserved it from that second half performance.

Would have liked a LBP but thems the breaks.

Have to say that was a great match. Shows that Bristol have got some way to go, as a lot of us fans already knew. Its such a shame that the 2 best teams in England play fast, free flowing, high scoring rugby but England continue to play the same dross match after match. The point will hit home one day. Well played Exeter, and here's hoping for a repeat fixture on the 26th of June!

I'll also add that if Sam Simmonds doesn't go on the lions tour then I will be staggered. The man is a freak. 4mph slower than Rees-Zammit in full flight as a back row forward... are you kidding me???

Almost like being a winger isn't the main focus of a back row...
I am sure I heard Flatman say he would be 'one of the best centres in the Prem' then added 'well top 12 anyway'. May have misheard but possibly a Freudian slip.

Did someone say "luxury giraffe"?
Except, of course, that SS is a shortarse.

If only he played with 7 written on his back, he'd be approaching 50 caps by now - well, maybe not, Curry and Underhill would still have provided stiff competition, but SS had first dibs at international level*.
It's weird; Eddie's got no problem playing flankers at 8, or locks at flank; but refuses to consider an 8 on the flank (or centres on the wing), despite SS being a flanker who happens to wear 8.

*ETA: No he didn't; Curry got capped first; by 1 international window. SS then went on to get all 7 of his caps before TC got his 2nd.
SU also got capped earlier than I'd thought, making his debut a week after TC, and earning his 2nd cap alongside SS's debut.

All 3 debuted against Argentina (TC and SU whilst the Lions were away; SS properly in the Autumn), confusion of the Lions probably explains why I don't really remember it - that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!

Simmonds always looked like a flanker, and Ewers and Armand always looked more like 8s
Weird how they ended up in this configuration - guess they valued Simmonds burst of speed from the base of the ruck or something

Think is Ewers had played 8 and Simmonds 7 they'd have both had a bunch more caps by now
