Think it's safe to say that No.18 is back.

Damn, that boy is good.

That was an almost perfect display of traditional QB-ing from Manning, Denver looking strong this season

I saw: "Green Bay vs San Francisco" and "Dallas vs Giants". The best players for me: Jordy Nelson (GB.) Vernon Davis (SF), Anquan Boldin (SF), Victor Cruz (NYG) and Romo (DA)

Cheers

Best players of this round, by a mile, are Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson, Colin Kaepernick and AJ Green. Massive wins by Niners, Broncos and Seahawks. Especially the Seahawks, without their top defensive guys and playing a 10 AM PST game to start the season, were great defensively and winning in Charlotte is a great start.

Next Sunday will be the Clash of the ***ans. A big episode in the battle for the NFC West Division ***le. Arguably the 2 best teams in the NFL depth-wise.

How about these Eagles. Not many people saw this coming. If they keep this up they will be a fun team to watch this year

One of the reasons I couldn't really give you a 'team to go for'. Lots of unexpected performers the first week.
Don't get too enthusiastic about Romo though, he's guaranteed to 'unimpress' soon ;)

Even with the failure to launch of the fantasy league, hope you enjoy watching the NFL this season :)

By the way, my prediction is Broncos v Fins bowl. (one by head, one by heart)

My personal awards for Week 1

Game of the week - Green Bay v San Francisco
Offensive Player of the Week - Peyton Manning
Defensive Player of the Week - DeMarcus Ware
Surprise Of the Week - The Eagles first half offence vs Washington
Fail of the Week - Its a tie, either the Steelers losing to the ***ans or the ***ans conceding a safety on the opening kickoff.

The 'Manningbowl' was as entertaining as ever. 18 is actually getting better (if it's possible), and loved the fact that Welker dropped his first 3 catches, but wasn't ostracised, and came good in the end. (What were the Pats thinking, letting him go?)

Seattle showed why they are considered ***le contenders. They beat the 49ers at home, 29-3 which could have been worse if they would have played the final phases. They ended on SF 15y line and spiked the ball to end the game.

Kansas City. Who'd have thunked it that they'd be 3-0. No fluke either, watched their game v Eagles last night/this morning and deserved it. Shut down, for the most part, the Eagles ariel weapons leading to multiple interceptions and were able to move the chains constantly when with the ball.

Really shows how key a top 15 QB and a good coach are to a team.

KC been rebuilding for a few years now. Problem is they were so bad that they had to put all their youngsters in at the deep end, but now they're more experienced, they're starting to show some form.

That D is going to be a monster in the next couple of years.

(They're still way overdependent on Charles though, and I'm wondering which week he will suffer a 'season ending injury' in. I swear he's only played about 12 games in the last 5 years)

KC have looked much better I still expect they'll have a bit of a comedown and probably end up around 7-9 or so on the season, they have had a fairly easy schedule so far.

Loved the Bills comeback last week and now we have my most HATED AFC team up next the Jets. We usually play well in the Meadowlands but it should be fairly close and even though it's only week three is a game the Bills really do need to win.

Picks for this years NFL?

I've gone Denver and Seattle with a little nibble on the Colts! What do others think?

Feeling quietly chuffed with the NFL thus far. Ended up taking Denver, Seattle, Colts and Miami all to win the Super bowl and bets on each to win their respective conferences.

Denver (4 - 0) just look in cruise control demolishing all in their path so far.
Seattle (4 - 0) have had a tougher schedule putting away Houston away in OT today (after coming from 21 - 3 down was it?) and SF a couple weeks earlier.
Even my roughies Colts (3-1) and Miami (3-0) are looking not too bad. Certainly their odds have come crashing in, got Miami at 50 to 1 and Indy at 40 to 1 pre-season...

In saying that, I am an NFL rookie. Anyone care to share their thoughts on what my chances are with these 4 teams? One would think Denver and Seattle are arguably the best two teams in the league, but thoughts on Miami and Indy?

Cheers.

Well, I am a Seahawks fan so not completely objective but they are definitely the top team in the NFC this year. If things go well and we don't get hit with more injuries (Bennett possibly already out for a while and Harvin only returning in a month) we can maybe snatch home-field advantage for the play-offs, which is a BIG deal for Seattle.

Today's win over Houston was remarkable and definitely in my top5 games I've seen of the Seahawks in my life. Such a magnificent come-back to win on the road and it being a 10 AM PST game, makes it that much sweeter. Those are usually the difficult games.

Just finished watching Falcons v Patriots live.

Exciting game, esp the last 1/4; a successful onside kick, a Tom Brady fumble on 4th & 1, replay equipment not working properly, dubious on field calls, and a couple of miraculous downfield catches from Matt Ryan "Hail-Mary" passes.

Finished Patriots 30-23; Belichick's Boys dodged a bullet there.

Denver probably the most dangerous looking team I've seen for many a year. Their entire season relies on 18 staying fit, but if he does, I can't see anyone getting close to them, and possibility of a 16-0 season.

Seattle strongest in their division, but still don't seem to believe that they are, not playing to their potential yet (in my opinion)

Phins my heart say's will win their division, but Pat's looking ominous as they've scraped out a 4-0 record, and now have Gronk due to return.

Colts looking good, very reliant on Luck (pun intended). Still not sure on their D, and I fancy the Texans to come good and take this division.

Denver are the best attacking team in the NFL no question, we may aswell give Manning the MVP now. Seattle have a better defence, they have won me at least 2 fantasy rounds single handedly, so that could be the Superbowl matchup there.

Pleased with my Saints, as dangerous as ever through the air but Rob Ryan has transformed our D from the worst to top 5.

I watched the Vikings Steelers and realised I'd completely forgotten about the fantasy leage. I suppose I'm the whipping boy?
