[June Tests 2018: 3rd Test] South Africa vs. England (23/06/2018)

Youngs has always been pretty hit or miss,
Having care snapping at his heels really encouraged him on under Jones (And same for care, fighting for his spot). Whenever one is out if the side the other always tends to look worse.

I wouldn't be adverse to getting a proper look at Spencer (would like to see Robson get a shot but Spencer is more realistic)
The BBC is suggesting it will be Robson

Nice,
Makes sense as him and Cips have the club connection

I really want to see cipriani and Solomona together. Cips grubber/attacking short kicking game is vveerryy good, and that really plays into Solomona's league finishing prowess

If the rumour's right about Cips that will be the 2nd time in 4 matches that Ford will have been dropped and the 3rd different starting FH in those games.

Who's the third?
I can't remember anyone other than faz and Ford playing 10 in forever

Well it's been pretty much confirmed the Boks are making a few changes as well, at the very least we'll see Elton Jantjies in for Handre Pollard and Andre Esterhuizen in for Damian de Allende.

Sad but true. Since he established himself as an international, I haven't been a Youngs fan, but had to give him begrudging respect when England looked poorer without him after his injury in the 6N.

That'll teach me to sneak looks at my phone during work

I think the 6/2 split on the bench is a actually a good call and might (fingers crossed to the point of disfigurement) help prevent our 20th-60th minute collapse. Also expecting the lack of altitude to help us too.

Can't understand why Shields has dropped out entirely, I can only assume he has picked up a knock or Eddie has seen enough to know he will be involved in the autumn and wants to give Wilson/Simmonds a run out or Robshaw a swansong.

Genuinely excited to see Cipriani play 80 or at least get a solid enough run. I'm hoping Denny comes on for Slade at some point so that Daly can shift to 13. In spite of the shocking performances of the last couple of weeks, I am excited to see what happens when we are forced to change our game plan (exc. Vunipolae) and given a shot of adrenaline at fly-half. Call me an eternal optimist/utter moron, but I think we may see a significantly improved performance on Saturday. If not, at least we have our inevitable success at the round ball world cup to fall back on...F***

Shields injured or has he seen sense and hot footed it back to NZ pretending the last few weeks never happened?

Hope Isiekwe's mentally tough, because right now he must be a very annoyed young man.

Surprised Loz hasn't been given a chance.

Jones has lost the plot... It's the forwards that are the main problem and he's doing nothing to address that.
Yeah but everyone shouted how much better we'd play with Cips and how we'd crush them because he's only fly half who can play on the back foot.

And this is why the entire conversation about Ford/Cipriani was utter ********...

BBC saying that Shields is ill, that's why he has been dropped completely
