Italy vs Ireland - 16/03/2013

Definite scrum. Gilroy was entitled to challenge but ha Archer on. G'wan the steamer.

I just love players like him.
Not flash, not a huge name, but goes about what he does and loves every second of it.
A commemorative avatar is in the works.

This is the "what if" 6N for Italy, just a little more finishing vs. England and Parisse being available for the Wales game and Italy could have really been threatening at the top of the table.

It has always been that way for Italy, but each year a few less 'ifs'. They have a decent scrumhalf, but really need a standoff.
As we have said many times, oh for a Diego Dominguez.

Brave performance from the team. Well done Italy. If the wooden spoon is not enough to get rid of Kidney then I don't know what is.

No matter the injuries..........well done Italy!!!! And loads of credit to Brunel and Parisse for their enormous contributions for this season and LoCicero for being involved right from the start of Italy's journey in the 6N.....

Sorry Brian.............

How have we gone so downhill since the Wales match?

Feel sorry for BOD - I wouldn't blame him if he didn't want to play another game in an Irish shirt.
It's getting to the point where these performances are actually disgraceful.

I think what Italy now have, aside from the gradual improvement in quality across the team sheet, is a belief that they don't need to play beyond their capabilities in order to win.

I thought Lo Cicero had a storming game im glad his final match was successful a true legend of rugby :)

I'm starting to wonder if a "Lions" less Irish side could be a scalp oppourtunity for the North American sides this June....surely Kidney has to be done with now I can't see how he stays on.

Congrats Italy, well deserved. The injuries were unfortunate, but that victory was forged up-front, where Ireland didn't suffer injuries during this game. Italy dominated the lineout, and had the better of the breakdown. Probably should have won by a bigger margin, but their backline is still pretty useless.

Commiserations to our Irish posters.

Itlay improves year after year.
Brunel does a fantastic job, as he did when he coached Perpignan.
