Ireland vs England

It does look like he may be leading with his forearm but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

One could argue that he was merely holding the ball to his chest, which puts his forearm infront of his body..... but I'm not because he moved his forearm out after the tackle attempt sort of hitting Kelly Brown. I didn't realise this was an offence though... I mean, you're allowed to hand people off...

Tough call is that by the HMS Banahan. Hand offs are meant to be with the hand and not the forearm. Is there any news on Brown?

I thought he did extend the forearm out as his hit Brown. But then I'm baised so....

Brown got a concussion from the hit but is fit to play this weekend

I don't think Banahan raises his arm until after the collision, which is standard practise anyway as you want to get the tackler off of your to keep on running - It just so happened that Brown hit his ball carrying side so he raised his arm to push him off rather than just pushing with his hand -But as Iain said, i'm biased towards him :p

Either way, the citing people saw nothing wrong with it

Ireland team named Wednesday at lunchtime.

As for Banahan incident from a neutral view I'd say he is innocent and what he did there we see 100's of times in games

Well if we're going to be biased, I thought he gouged him and then started trying to rape him. On the field of play. Through his shorts.

And should never be allowed to play rugby again.

Similarly O'Leary must be alright. Right as rain sure. I can't see him being unsighted making him any worse than usual.

Probably Irish team according to the Irish Times regular leak;

Keith Earls
Tommy Bowe
Brian O'Driscoll
Gordon D'Arcy
Andrew Trimble
Jonathan Sexton
Eoin Reddan / Peter Stringer

Cian Healy / Tom Court
Rory Best
Mike Ross
Donncha O'Callaghan
Paul O'Connell
Sean O'Brien
David Wallace
Jamie Heaslip

Earls to fullback seems a bit daft (cant kick, cant pass, not sure about high ball), though dropping Fitzgerald should have happened earlier but bringing Johnny back is not too surprising. Otherwise its the same old shite team.

Heres hoping Reddan and Healy come through.

it's getting more annoying each week to see O'Callaghan, D'Arcy and Best (he's kinda solid but really prefer Cronin's dynamism) being picked. i hope Earls does alright at the back. it wasn't so long ago Howlett was comparing him to Christian Cullen :p maybe it was just the bald head.

Seeing Healey, O'Connell, Reddan, D'Arcy and Earles (as FB ) make me a very happy Englishman.

i hope Healy and O'Connell make you an unhappy english man this weekend by playing to their standards which haven't met this season. i'd say having Reddan starting ahead of Stringer and O'Leary wouldn't be a great thing to see for the English considering he hasn't put a food wrong when he's been on and he's been providing crisp ball to the backs for leinster this season. D'Arcy needs to be replaced but i'm eager to see what Earls can do

What on earth...nothing wrong with that.

Yeh, that's what I thought untill I read yesterday that 'leading with the forearm's' an offence. I dunno why though  I thought you could go into contact however you like as long as your not swinging punches. :p

Cullen should definitely be starting. If only because he's so ugly he can terrify any opposition into submission.

POC hasn't been at his best but in key moments at the end of games such as against Scotland he's done some really key things and showed his experience.

As and englishman I'd be happier to see Sexton start. Not because he's less good than ROG but because ROG is a good tactician and I have bad memories of him doing his annoyingly accurate grubber kicks into the corner in the dying moments of past matches when England really need to score.

Yeah, well those kicks have done nothing this year except hand the ball back to the opposition.

I was under the impression that that was actually a legitimate technique for "boshing" an opponent or at least getting arms free for the offload :/

Yeh, It is strange a citation was even mentioned. But at least it hasn't been implemented. Lets just hope Kelly Brown recovers well.

I find it all very unclear: Was The Boat cited by the citing officer or the Scottish management?
