Ireland vs England

Firstly Bod is a phenomenal tackler and nothing short of a steam train should be getting over him.

secondly the Irish back row in my estimation is far more physical than the English, and with cian healy in front row and possibly cronin the front row seems to be far more dynamic too ;)
Dynamicism counts for nothing if you've got no setpiece :p

I look forward to this match,
Haskell vs Sean 'I wish I were Haskell' O'Brien

True, but then this'll happen:

....again ..the artists impression of the after match meal :)

A couple of points.

Bastereaud had no problem with BOD. BOD and Darcy are fantastic defenders but anyone would struggle with Banahan and the likes going at full tilt. The question is will England be able to get Banahan going at all. Incidently I'd imagine Sexton will be back in the 10 channel and hes as physical as any outhalf at the moment. Not a threat, but more solid.

Secondly, Ireland set piece was 100% and extremely comfortable against the Welsh Olyy.

I had a third point but I've forgotten it. Let that be a lesson to you youngins, type, and type like the wind before you forget what it was you were trying to............

The reason basta is so good is because his COG is somewhere around his ankles Banahan however is of natural conformation just a bit elongated and so easier to tackle than that little ball of french fury.

Lads just a few questions.

Why do people assume ROG will be dropped when Sexton is off form completely?
Also is it just me or has this 6Nations been the worst in years. Like I'm delighted the gap between the worst and best team has closed dramatically closed but we aren't going to touch off SH teams

Good question.

And yes. I am happy for England to be cock of the dunghill, but its deffo a dunghill.

It's annoying that for the first time in 8 years England have a very real chance at the ***le and it just happens to be the year everyone is off their game. I can hear it now:

"England only won because everyone else was crap, when (insert team here) won, everyone was at the top of their game and they had to show true class to win."

Typical rotten luck :(

No in fairness to England IF they do the slam you have to respect them because they have been the most stylish and attacking team and well as the saying goes you can only beat what is in front of you but I just can't understand how our standards at international level have dipped so much.

Sexton is not off form. He has been brilliant for Leinster this year and he played well in the games he started at fly half. His confidence is nocked but ROG's game will not hurt the English because although he can tactical kick England should have no problems in the lineout and therefore will not be under as much presure. Plus if O'Gara's kicks do not find touch we are in deap trouble as the best back three in the competition will be running back at us. Plus he will be targeted in defence and Hape will punch through and offload. Sexton's confidence is knoced and it will be a risk playibng him but he is the way forward and Ireland need to play his style of play and get ROG on to close the match out.

My point is yes Sexton has had fine year for Leinster and was good until he was dropped but in the "now" his confidence is down and I just think it might not be the wisest move to start him because if he has a shaky game and is replaced by ROG it'd knock him back a bit.

1stKelly brown is a good tackler he still got destroyed by bannahan
2nd hartley is one of the most dynamic front row
3rd it is very possiable that eng will have lawes back who together with palmer puts in more big tackles than any other 2nd row i know of

yes bannnahan is tall thats why he hunches down before contact so he has lower COG he also has a really long arms which are good to hand off people with:)

Firstly one instance of a player getting the better of another does not mean that they are a better strike runner or better player than another the Hms Banahan is not and never will be a top class centre I reckon.

Hartley is decent yes but hasn't been playing very well.

Lawes is a wrecking ball .. he is In my opinion one of the best players England have to offer and so yes you will have a very physical player but Ireland on a whole in the pack are more destructive.

All players lower their COG coming into contact or else they get smashed.

How many times do you see players cut down at the knees by Bod going flat out..no matter how long his arms are or how low he crouches a 14 stone full tilt to the legs is going to drop you

Kelly's a blindside flanker. He got knocked out by an outside centre (shouldn't the blindside be one of the best tacklers in the team?). There was no malice involved, Banahan was running, Kelly made a poor effort to tackle him and got his head in the wrong place. You don't have to be an international blindside to know that you should go in low against big people (or anyone for that matter) It's one of the first things taught. I lol'd when I heard there would be a possible citing. It's Rugby for christ's sake.

*baby voice:

"Ooh, that guy got hurt trying to takle a 6ft7 18st guy, let's call a wahmbulance, and then lets see if we can get the big guy cited. Maybe next time he should run a bit slower and keep his arms out the way incase another player has a booboo again."

P.S: Sorry the whole citing thing has been annoying me, just needed to get that off my chest.
