Ireland vs England

Kelly's a blindside flanker. He got knocked out by an outside centre (shouldn't the blindside be one of the best tacklers in the team?).

Everybody misses tackles .....and its rather simple to get knocked out from head the wrong side in the heat of a game...

It's not really that, It's just the fact that some people seem to be up in arms about it. And, like you said he just got his head in the wrong place in the heat of the game. But there's no need to even mention a citing, Banahan didn't do anything wrong. I've been reading elsewhere that what Banahan did was somehow wrong, which isn't true. Really it was Kelly Browns fault. But lets face it noones to blame: Sh*t happens.

It was an unlucky incident but I think Kelly Brown has himself to blame for his own positioning. He was standing at full height and attempting to tackle Banahan around the shoulders- not a good idea much of the time let alone when the outside centre coming at you is upwards of 18 stone.

I haven't actually seen the incident is it online yet?

This.

EDIT, sorry should have edited the other post rather than post a new one.

Kelly's a blindside flanker. He got knocked out by an outside centre (shouldn't the blindside be one of the best tacklers in the team?). There was no malice involved, Banahan was running, Kelly made a poor effort to tackle him and got his head in the wrong place. You don't have to be an international blindside to know that you should go in low against big people (or anyone for that matter) It's one of the first things taught. I lol'd when I heard there would be a possible citing. It's Rugby for christ's sake.

*baby voice:

"Ooh, that guy got hurt trying to takle a 6ft7 18st guy, let's call a wahmbulance, and then lets see if we can get the big guy cited. Maybe next time he should run a bit slower and keep his arms out the way incase another player has a booboo again."

P.S: Sorry the whole citing thing has been annoying me, just needed to get that off my chest.

Didn't Foden do the same thing to him at Murrayfield?

It was Kellock who got put on his arse by Foden. I still get slightly hard thinking about it. No concussion though.

Brown did very well to get across to cover for that tackle and showed a lot of balls in trying it despite being in the wrong body position. **** happens. This said, I don't like this whole fending with the arms business - not then Brown hit arm first but Banahan's arms did raise to fend - it has been penalised/cited before and should it happen, can't complain too much. Would be interesting to see who they brought in if he was banned and Tindall injured...

Jamie Noon is but a £20 Ryanair flight away

No news on Banahan being cited yet, and it's been 48hrs, so if we don't here anything soon he's good to go

Someone is an idiot, you know who you are.

If you are reading this and you are not sure ............ its probably you.

I have a little voodoo doll of Tom O'Leary in my room that I've been repeatedly hitting with a shovel. Take from that what you will.

We have no wish to know about the "doll" you keep in your room. Or who you're thinking about when "thrashing" it...

On the Bannahan incident I imagine it will be on www.rugbydump.com or will be soon if not already. They really like big 'hits' on there.

on the dynamicism I think England's major discovery of the AI's and the six nations so far has been that we can field a dynamic pack! Especially in the front row. For me the other majoy discovery is that Haskell does actually have potential and can play 7 quite well.
