Ireland v New Zealand - 8 November 2024

Tbh they could have. Nick Berry always seems to have his own interpretations of the laws.
Brand new changes to the law always require interpretation and precedents. Every ref will start differently.

Last week we heard the ref saying not every head contact is foul play.

What's the actual rule world rugby?

It's decided by a complex algorithm and extensive data from thousands of rugby matches over the last two decades.

Edit: to be fair cards for high tackles are generally handled a lot better now, especially compared to last year.

Anyone more knowledgeable, but is Ireland constant counter-rucking from the side legal? They don't seem to go through the middle, but consistently hit slightly to side and then turn in on them.

Noticed similar too. Not every time, but some very obvious ones to me

Berry is the master of inconsistency. How was that kick advantage over but Ireland's wasn't?

D Mac's run up a few blind alleys but he's looking good from the tee - really kept his cool for that last one.

At the international/top pro level it should be an automatic penalty to roll into 9 or across ball. They know what they are doing and teams play the ball so quickly.

So we warn about laying in there and cards then forget that in the second half.

Another pen, no card, Ireland just prevent any momentum which could lead to a try, ref needs to grow a pair.
