So my understanding that it was a penalty because Barrett blocked access to the ball even if he doesn't change his line.
 
Relishing this as a neutral, should be intriguing!

Have to say though, why isn't this a Saturday tea time fixture where folks can enjoy Dublin all day and sample the staples?

Well kind of but if your running back and have more chance of winning the ball than the player behind how can it be a penalty?

ref completely ignoring Irelands almost constant offside and slowing the ball, Ireland playing really smart and getting away with it.

I thought they were trialling that law where if the opposition doesn't jump then it's play on, but I guess not
 
Ireland consistently lying on the wrong side and pretending they're trying to get out the way.
