Ireland v New Zealand - 8 November 2024

This talk about New Zealand being a tier below the other top 3 sides is laughable.

Fml is berry making the rules up as he goes along, Ireland so lazy constantly getting in the 9s way lying in the ruck, then extended knock on advantage which should end after a kick.

So you can go back and check if the kick touched an Irish hand, but completely ignore the New Zealand player scooping the ball back illegally which caused the turnover, which is shown on a replay.

If this is high, there is very little between this and the hit on Earl last week

The knock back was an Irish knee

Not red though Irishman bent down into it

Hope that's not a red- think there's a little bit of mitigation with the ball carrier slight dip.

Big ten minutes coming up when the 2nd half resumes.

Ireland looking quite rusty like England did last week. NZ fully deserve their lead

I thought this when I saw the schedule. Ideally you'd want your first hit out to be against a touring tier 2 nation which from memory was the way in the past. Allows to shake any rust off in a lower risk fixture.

I think Ireland are good enough to get back in this regardless. Pen count is high but defending much better than England did last weekend.

I'm amazed Ireland are close, they barely did anything. NZ a whisker away from breaking free numerous times in that half. The issue with this generation of NZ though is that they make mistakes and don't finish off many of their opportunities like they used to

I hope that rust extends to SA on Sunday!

I thought they were trialling that law where if the opposition doesn't jump then it's play on, but I guess not
Tbh they could have. Nick Berry always seems to have his own interpretations of the laws.
