I cant sit at the computer atm do you mind writing the score please

Canada just scored a converted try 27' in to cut their deficit to 14-10.

Edit: Chile just scored their 3rd try of the first half at 33' out wide to the left, Chile 19 - 10 Canada.

Edit: Nice penalty slotted by the Chileans to end the half with a twelve point lead.

Canada haven't had a very good tournament, dissapointing stuff especially defensively. They have been leaking tries all over the place.

why such lackluster showing from Canada today ? loss of motivation perhaps

EDIT: nice attack, great try

EDIT2: another try coming up ?

Canada are really close to that try that will make this a one score match with 10 minutes to play. If they can just get past the line I should say.

Edit: They just did finally score the try, at 72' nice job by their #20 Mike Dalsin. But right after they got close a penalty to the Chileans was given away when it mattered, and they just made the score 40-31, ouch.

Edit: The final score was 43-31 in favor of 5th place finisher Chile, 15 minutes or so until Tonga v Georgia.

Edit: 5' into the next one, it's nice to see the bleacher seats much more filled up for this one, Tonga has a close 3-0 lead so far after Amanaki's penalty.

Halftime edit: Georgia have held Tonga scoreless since that early penalty, and lead 10-3 at the half. The only try is by the Georgian prop Giorgi Tetrashvili.

Edit: Both teams really want 3rd place in the 2nd half scoring a couple tries apiece. Georgia still lead with 20' to go: 27-17.

To get people pumped for the ***le match the Irb sent out pics of both teams warming up:

Edit: Wow, Tonga's Kalafi Pongi just scored with 5' to play, and Manase Folau pulled off his try with 3' left to make the scores level at 29 with an easy conversion still to come. 31-29 was the final score with Tonga winning 3rd place after they held off Georgia in the last minute. Doubt you can beat that one for excitement, ***le game.

The teams are lined up for the anthems' at the final:

last match edit: Japan takes the lead 10' in with a converted try by one of their wingers, Seiyu Kohara.

Edit: Japan have taken a 14-0 lead after a try by Jumpei Ogura, will they be the side that is promoted to the JWC in Italy's place next summer to play with the big boys for the first time since 2009?

Edit: 34' in USA are finally on the board, and cut the lead to 14-7. And a penalty kicked by Hughes plus another try by the left winger, Noah Tarrant, just before the half puts the US ahead in a close one with 40 minutes still to play, 15-14 USA.

Edit: It only took Japan 5 minutes to score in the 2nd half, taking the lead back 21-15 after Shunsuke Nunomaki's try.

Edit: Heh, the Japanese were threatening to go up by two tries 48' into the match, and USA took an intercepted pass end to end and Tarrant scored another try to make it 22-21 USA.

Edit: What a back and forth match, team Japan takes the lead after another try from #8 Yoshitaka Tokunaga is allowed by the USA defense at 56'. It goes unconverted and the lead is 26-22 Japan.

Then the USA score again with a try by their inside center Kingsley McGowan at 57'. This converted try puts them ahead 29-26.

Of course Japan is going to take the lead back, and at 59' their winger, Seiyu Kohara, scores to make it 33-29 Japan.

It's a 1 pt. difference after a Hughes penalty with 9' to play, 33-32 Japan. I guess this one is better than that great 3rd place match, unless you are all about defense then you'd hate this 2nd half.

Edit: then there's another try by that US winger Tarrant at 73' to make it 37-33 USA.

And that ended up being the final score.

Congrats to the USA on advancing to play on with the big boys next year. I am disappointed in how our boys played, I hope the coach is sacked as he has done nothing but ***** about our poor standard and how Canadians can't play rugby and in the three years he has been coach our results at this tournament have not been up to standard.

I agree Rugger, it's hard to see how Shelley retains his position after this extremely dissapointing tournament. The defence was a shambles, and yesterday's performance was incredibly lacklustre, while there were some individual performances by McCann, West and Paris that I liked the team as a whole did not gel at all and seemed poorly prepared.

Which is hard to believe as this is the most money and the most preparation time a Canadian U20 team has ever had. What does Shelley want? More funding, I guarantee we have better funding than the Chilean, Zimbabwean and Georgian teams that smoked our asses at this tournament. Better facilities? Langford national training center is world class and before that we had Shawnigan Lake so no issues there. Maybe we need to bring in a guy like Ian Hyde-Lay ... someone who knows rugby and knows more specifically Canadian Rugby. Maybe Morgan Williams, I attended a coaching clinic given by this guy he is class and knows the game of rugby. As well, being a former professional for some of the top clubs in Europe, he understands what is lacking in Canadian youth to really take them to the next level.

Maybe we could even look elsewhere, like bringing on some guys that coach in the OUA, not that any of the guys that coach there would really want to enter the political meat grinder that is Rugby Canada.

So much for Georgia's strongest ever team making it to the final and winning...

Well done the US and Japan, their time will come soon.

Big news, at least half of the Young Sables from Zimbabwe have tested positive for banned substances. The IRB conducted random tests during the JWRT has revealed that at least 13 of 26 squad members will be charged by the IRB. The IRB would not comment until the involved players have been notified and after the hearings have taken place. Sources say that the Zimbabwe Rugby Union had been aware of drug use/abuse by several players during Cottco Schools Rugby Festival held in Harare, but did little about it.

I certainly am disappointed, especially because of the age level this is at. While Zimbabwe only finished 7th, they looked to have some good players but certainly the IRB will come down hard on the players and hopefully the federation as well. Half the squad members (I don't know if it was only these half that were tested, or whether the whole sqaud was) testing positive is completely unacceptable. These kids need to be taught (or reminded) the harsh dangers of using these performance enhances and the damages they can do to themselves down the line.
