France v Ireland

I don't know if this is something lost in translation but was Poitrenaud simply not called up or did he refuse to be on the bench???

I think Poitrenaud was simply not in the squad, I can't remember seeing his name in the list.

Lievremont called Poitrenaud and his team. But the manager of Toulouse need him for the next game of top 14 vs Montauban.

Reasonable start by both Ireland and France. Ireland grinding along and just as well. If you're not in form, there is nothing, nothing wrong with taking baby steps to start.

France however....

Rougerie runs 70 metres and then Ellisaldes **** goal kicking comes to the fore again.

Bloody hell, Ireland's line out self destructs!

And France! Where the hell you been all my life! Crazy stuff!!

The frustrating thing about the lineout this week and last week was you had 2 second rows who don't make the calls, would much rather see either O'Driscoll or Cullen in the team.

Promising stuff there, it's been a while since they've had a passage of play like that, need to cut out the silly errors though.

Been an enjoyable start to the game, both sides having good attacking, and some very good hands from Ireland with a couple of nice offloads...

Also good to hear the Irish making themselves heard...

Superb vision, which resulted in a well deserved try...

Still a promising start to the game, should be a good game...

and another try from Clerc... great fast ball from France, Ireland were caught out sleeping there...

Oh Christ it's gonna be a long evening here. Murphy yet again in defensive shocker against the French, ever heard of horses for courses Eddie?

Thats why Ellisade is there his kicking not so good but he has the intelligence and the speed to make things count...and wow...Clerc again!

You see that Incredible Shalk...you see what Skrela did there? He did what Parks never does. He took on guys and make the break.

EDIT: Good on the paddies for not giving up, good move and the French bundled into touch near their own try line. Lets see how the legendary Irish line out....oh.

Oh well :(

France make it look soooooooooo easy, two games and we havent scored a try and France have score 5 in a game and a quarter. Chance to Ireland though, 9 points down and they've played well.

Yea but Scotland are conservative buggers mate, they dont know what attack is..;)

Clerc hat trick! Brilliant counter-attack from France

Huymens and Clerc are brilliant together. This could be pretty heavy for Ireland.

Eddie is gonna be in Trouble, although the Irish have been punished for stupid errors, but this is International Rugby so you can't afford to make errors...

Well done to Clerc for the Hat-Trick a superb one to watch thats for sure...
