Ah so I assume you work for Sidhe or possibly a game retailer? Also I assume that you must have played RWC2011 if you already know it's the 'same' as 08. Look forward to your review.
As with most games, people shouldn't just judge this based off of the trailer. Fair enough there is very little else to go by, but similar animations aren't going to affect the game that drastically. For all we know, the game could have a different feel to it than Rugby 08. Regardless, I still feel HB should be given credit for even taking the opportunity to make the game.

- They haven't been working on it for 4 years
- Smaller budget than what EA have to offer
- Of course it's gonna be based on 08, they made 08 and this is the next game in line by them
- Barely anyone has played this game, those who have (Getofmeland being one of them) have said it's not the same as 08

literally felt like I was watching a compilation from rugby 08... just putting it out there :S
not the most inspiring trailer ever if you are on the fence to buy it or not. there is quite a lot that looks like 08 in that trailer perhaps a bit too much for a lot of peoples liking. Will be interesting to hear what everyone thinks of the gameplay in the demo because that will be the true test of what the game will actually be like.
I remember a lot of people stating that a game trailer is useless (we need gameplay footage), before either trailer had been released.

Given generally Sidhe employees aren't allowed to post negative comments about competitive games (and are limited in general online conversation with same) and only buyers from rental and retail chains have experienced Rugby Challenge first hand, plus the fact he is apparently from Wainuiomata near Wellington, if he does have first hand experience I'm guessing he could be a Rugby Challenge usability test subject.
If that is the case, he shouldn't be saying anything, seeing as he would have signed an NDA.
-I didn't say they have been working on it for 4 years, I said there is a difference of four years between release of the games.
-I don't know why you mentioned the budget, I wasn't comparing it to NCAA.
-I don't have a problem with it being based on the 08 engine, but at least show us some new animations, if there are any.
-I never said it was the same as 08, I said it looks the same as 08 because they've re-used a lot of animations. Nearly everybody who has seen this trailer can back that up.
I'm just disappointed because I know HB are capable of so much more. Look at the difference between Rugby 04 and Rugby 05. Rugby 04 was one of the worst rugby games ever released and 05 is up there with the best. They were completely different games and Rugby 05 is probably my favorite of all HB Rugby games.

everyone comparing this game to 08 needs to shut it. 08 is a great game and with updated graphics and rules could easily compete with RC. it has been said that the passing and rucking has been improved so there are two major upgrades there and bottom line if you want to hate on this game why are you here on this forum

Had Sidhe got the license's for South Africa RC would of had the Springboks and the five South African Super Rugby sides and possibly Currie Cups may of been in the game.
2 teams compared to 6 with the possibly another 8 or so from Currie cup.More fans would be missing out not having any S.A sides/players at all.
Look at the RWC trailer compared to RC, can you honestly say H.B has done the fans any justice with what they released it looks like a tweaked version of 08,yes no gameplay footage has been released to the public as yet but this is H.B only chance of salvaging any hope of a great game besides been called Rugby World Cup 2011 which will pick up sales cause of the name.
Except you can create competitions in Rugby Challenge.

I think Im going to cancel my pre-order I already have rugby 08. It's the same I thought you could have done something better in 4 years. Plus I've seen loads of replys saying don't put them silly dives in like rugby 08. I think you showed about 4 dives in the trailer that were the same as them in rugby 08. RC all the way!
