To me, this is a very poor trailer. The actual content is pointless. You want to see gameplay that is actual gameplay. For some reason it didn't show any rugby at all, just tackling, swandives and tackles. RC's trailer is far superior in content.

Rugby 08 was a fair game, though it had it's moments of greatness, i can't see how 4 years later the game has not evolved at all, apart from some additional tweaks to previously clumbersome gameplay, which they haven't even showed.

I'm sure i'll enjoy this game, but i am disappointed by the lack of development in 4 years. Even fifa don't pull those tricks anymore.

Alright... It looks like a Updated 08... Graphics are passable? But what else was i supposed to expect.

Also.. I think the trailer was not good.. They could have made it more dazzling... Also.. Instead of ROCK music..

Make it EPIC.. How about using the actual RWC theme song, the world of Union?

Anyways.. I want some real reviews to come out soon...

Tbh i like the tackles from 08 even if i have got use to them i still find them entertaining. But imo the tackles arn't the most important part. We haven't seen the gameplay and from what i have read the gameplay seems to be very good. I will admit from this trailer i was upset at first but i havent seen the whole game yet im sure there will be a good game out of it in the end

I really tried not to get cynical about this game, i was just excited to see a new one. But this is such a crushing blow. As far as I can see, through no fault of their own, HB has only been able to afford a slight upgrade on the previous ***les. It seems the gameplay may improve, but at the cost of the exact same animations. They have the world cup, but only 20 teams and no other tournaments. They have a few licences, but no meaningful way of modification or editing those they don't. It's been a valiant effort with the budget they had, but it's fallen well short of what it promise. Players still all chase the ball, tackles are exactly the same, scrums are exactly the same, passing is exactly the same, kicking (bar a new chip kick) is exactly the same, lineouts are exactly the same, try scoring looks exactly the same, set plays are exactly the same. Even if rugby challenge had never happened this would still be a **** poor state of affairs. But what lost it for me is 0:36 in the video when you can clearly see the ball, apparently, half way through the players foot. gutted.

I can only imagine whoever made that video recorded lots of footage, hand picked all the best parts and then threw them away. It's not surprising the youtube trolls brigade are having a field day.

My bad mate! Have they changed that much animations wise though? I know they've changed a fair few gamplay things, remember watching a development video for Fifa11 on how the new passing accuracy works, which looked pretty epic tbf. But the animations arent really that much different? Or at least I cant notice a huge different as to when I play Fifa 08 when compared to playing Fifa 11.

Yeah I'd say they have, the running is much smoother and the ball physics are completely different, I'm pretty sure fifa 10 had an updated or new engine as well, one of the two :L

im sorry but RWC looks awesome i must say and yes RC looks good aswell there is no need to compare sidhe and HB. all this moaning will only make things worse in the long run it will come down to HB saying well we made a rugby game and people are slating it why bother making rugby 2012... so shut up buy what game you wanna buy and leave the HB boys alone to continue with the great work they are doing on RWC.

I have to say. I agree. The animations look mighty familiar. A little dissappointing. I think I'm going to wait for reviews of both games and play it by ear.

Pretty bad trailer I'd say.

Given that it's been four years since their last rugby game (yes I'm aware they haven't been working on this one for all four of those years) what we've got is a game which looks basically exactly the same (graphics and animations) as a PS2 game, with less stadiums, less teams, less licenses, and less competitions.

And yes I liked Rugby08 so I understand most of the defences on here being something akin to "08 was good, so if this is similar it will be good too"
But if it has nearly identical gameplay as 08, but with far less content, why should we buy this instead of just continuing to play 08? That's why I'll be buying Rugby Challenge.

Still, I suppose we should wait for the demo before we crucify it completely.

come on guys hb already told us not much work was put into the graphics of the game..... but they put the gamble on the gameplay. so what if the trailer looks crap. i guess thats why they put out the demo out. hmmm man i hope so anyways. :S but i did like how that grass looked

Look at the end of the day everyone is entitled to their own opinion and until any of us have have had a chance to play both ***les all we can go on for now is how things look.

But lets be honest, as a trailer its an absolute shocker and its quite clearly a cash cow whether you like it or not. Hey everyone who plays rugby 08 will likely be happy, but lets not kid ourselves that this is the product we should be receiving because it isnt.

Im not into this fanboy thing and I cant believe there is ANYONE on this forum that wouldnt love both games to completely and utterly blow us all out of the water with their brilliance. But how some people in the TRF / HB camp are defending this trailer is cringe worthy.

Whats the saying, if you cant say anything bad dont say anything at all??

As a side note I would also have to take the review of the game on here with a massive grain of salt.

I'm not judging the game until the demo but whatever happens I'm still getting both RWC11 and RC because I need to play something to play during the RWC.

At first i was a little dissapointed in that it looked similar to Rugby08 - although the kicking does look different
Rugby 08 was pretty good and now we have the following improvements to look forward to:
- We can play online!!!!!!
- Better rucking
- Improved kicking mechanics
- Great graphics
- and did i mention...we can play online!!!!!!!!

still cant wait for the game

Sorry to sound gloomy guys but this looks just like Rugby 08, I can't spot any difference, maybe the graphics are a bit better but apart from that, the set pieces, the tackles and the set pieces look exacly the same, and even that annoying "players running aimless like headless chicken" feeling remains.
