England vs USA Eagles

That's why I left him out,

Just for you, though:
Two locks,
Four opensides,
Two blindsides,
an 8

Very balanced makeup in the 23
At the risk of seeming very stupid, huh? 2 locks (McNally, Ewels), 4 opensides (Underhill, Curry, Ludlam and Ludlow), an 8 (Chick) and 2 blindsides (Hill and... who's the other 1?)

You'd hope the marketing people in the States could really take advantage of this fixture being on that date.
Yes, the irony of the July 4th date has been mentioned on rugby websites, social media and podcasts here in the USA ever since the match was first announced.

I'm just glad Smith is starting, I was convinced he'd play Umaga because EJ.......well he's EJ isn't he it's the sort of thing he usually does.

Apart from the front row, half backs and 15 that's ****** me right off. What a waste of a perfectly good opportunity to test some unknown players.

Half backs are exciting. Locks are the polar opposite.

Dombrandt plays so well off Smith that it seems odd not to see them in tandem. If he doesn't start against Canada toys are coming out of pram.

6:2 split with no specialist lock. If an outside back goes down we end up with Robson on the wing? Neither he nor Umaga are exactly Austin Healy in the versatility stakes.

Malins can play wing but isn't a winger. Coka is but out of nick - would be good to see him get some confidence from this.

And Ludlow as captain is just a wasted opportunity. I'd have given it to Underhill.

I'm guessing Umaga's covering 12 and 15 with Steward covering wing and Lawrence covering 13. Definitely not ideal though.
