England v New Zealand - 2 November 2024

Think the right team won, if England cannot get a dub at home with the available talent at their disposal in the domestic competition and the rub of the green on the day then I don't see where they will when it really matters, such as in a world cup.

New Zealand will be happy with that win and still have work to do. Not sure where England go from there.
Rub of the green is certainly subjective. Think the marginal decisions from Gardner was pretty much him tossing a coin in his head and overall evened out

Based on games post 6 nations I don't fancy England against Ireland or France, Scotland have had our number for a while, honestly not convinced we get any better.
Is Scotland at the Allianz stadium this year? If so I fancy you to win that but yeah, France and Ireland will be tough to put it mildly.

I wouldn't be too hard on Fords attempt on Telea, he's brushed off a lot bigger guys with an uncanny ease

Smith did miss two drops goals as well.

Pretty good article by the BBC.

Yeah Ford is getting most of the stick, but the issues are more prevalent than swapping the number 10 at 60 minutes.

Every time I see Beaudy Barrett with the kick n' chase, it's like good ol rock n' roll
we're the same age and I'm dealing with the aging thing by looking at him, beer in hand , thinking we're not finished yet

go beudy go

My issue with Fords tackle attempt wasn't so much the outcome these things happen, Telea is exceptionally talented, it's simply how half hearted and passive it was considering the obvious miss match size and power wise he needed to atleast attempt more.

Think it is pretty sure Scotland were at home against us this year, I wouldn't be suprised if we won that one by all accounts still don't see us finishing above 3rd, both Ireland and France probably beat England 8 out of 10 times currently.

Borthwick is the new Eddie jones, we are back to the kick everything era of English rugby.

Attack is a dirty word

It's hard to disagree with this but at least you've seen some progress from when he took over. The 6N will be a good indicator. I'd say 3rd place is absolute minimum but really you should be targeting top 2.
People will disagree with this but it Borthwick doesn't finish in the top two in the 6N then to me his position should be under threat. If (when) we lose to SA and if we lose to Ireland and France next year then he potentially could have won 1 game in 12 against the top teams. How is any England coach surviving with a record like that?. I don't think we will ever be top 3 in the World with this coach - and that should be the bare minimum for an England coach with the resources at his disposal IMO. I might be looking at it through a negative lens but honestly we've put up with this same old rubbish for over 20 years and I'm done with it.

Borthwick is the issue with the RFUs "jobs for the boys"

They won't care until they can't sell out twickenham.

Before the last World Cup, the Fiji barbarian game out sold the England vs wales warm up.

If carry's on with his traumatic brain injury level of rugby then we will be in the same situation. But I think he lacks the brain capacity to think of anything bar kicking the ball (up and under or drop goals)

Then with the premiership clubs not producing actual talent in key positions…

It's going to be a very long and painful couple of years for English rugby.

Flash back. The year is 2003. The world cup is on, pool stages. The english have one of the best sides in the professional era. Savvy pundits already know they are the real deal despite some getting overexcited about the all blacks, as per usual. the wallabies are pretty good too. This england side had recently toured NZ and beat them despite being down to 13 men at one point, a game where teh all blacks tried their darndest, played well, but were never a chance. But it isn't NZ I came here to talk about.

This is a story of bravery. This is a story about passion. This is a sotry about a man with a special aura, a confident man who demanded respect. And his son. This is a story that has only just begun.

Samoa, a rugby minnow by anyones standards at the time, faced off against the mighty english. A heroic battel ensued. With a passioned intensity never seen before, samoa tested the English like none would have expected. Generour with their physicality, generous with their delivery of free chiropractic services in the midfield, focused, connected. Inspired by thier captain Semo Sititi, Manu Samoa contributed to what would become one of the great rugby matches of all time. No they did not win. But Semo conceived a plan to seek his revenge. it would take a generation.

it is now time.
Enter Wallace, son of Semo. All Black. To take on England this weekend with a brave heart.
Stay tuned for part two.
Part two. All Blacks win. Wallace man of the match. Nuff said.

Neither team particularly good. Some people have been saying England's defecne was good. I dont' agree, there were holes and the All Blacks should have done better to exploit them. All Blacks discipline terrible.

Glad we had this one first up. Will give us a chance to imporve before facing Irelan. No way do we beat Ireland unless we improve.

Stuart had the btter of WIlliams. But Impressed with Tosi for beating the baby.
Worried about the linouts, especially with Taylor likely out next week.

Beauden wasn't too bad until he was. I guess there is a good cahnce he won't be there next week. I think we have to play differnt tactics next week anyway - hold onto the ball more. We need to do our best to starve Ireland of possession.

Roigard often took too long to get the ball off teh deck. I think we shoudl consider TJ for next week.

England are fast becoming the biggest choke artists of world rugby.

Choked against France in the six nations and failed to take advantage of a miss firing New Zealand.

Really struggling to see how England improve, I think we will struggle against Australia and get hammered by South Africa.

Luckily we are playing Ireland away the first game of the six nations…
Have you ever watched Ireland in quarter finals?

You complaining to me about Englands woes is akin to someone who's had a wage cut and can only manage 1 holiday a year moaning about it to a homeless person.

I'll hit back with;

Have you ever seen your own team knocked out in the pool stages of their own World Cup?

Rfu is plagued by the jobs for the boys attitude. We have an attack coach that has less experience coaching than those found in championship level clubs… and it bloody shows

At least the rugby community like you.

If we are gonna be hated, we should at least be good…

At the moment it must feel like our detractors are beating up on a retarded puppy with Parkinson's…

Oh look England hurt itself in its confusion..
