England future management?

Eddie Jones is by some way the best option here. Like others I'm uneasy about the fit between White and the current England Squad (squads can change, obviously, but still).

I'm also aware of the time he's been out of the international circuit.
I'm more reassured though by the good work he did with the Brumbies and Sharkes.

Still, I think we need to think really hard about 'fit' here.

Jake White is successful though. It depends on who he brings with him but I dont remember the Brumbies being that boring a team to watch.
If he brings Larkham/King or an innovative attack coach then we could see the whole league change into a more attack minded competition. Quite honestly I want a guy with a track record of success, White has won a tri nations, a world cup, and has been to a super 15 final once maybe twice but I'm not sure.
Eddie Jones has had success, he was a coach to white in the 2007 wc. I think if Jones got the job we would do well, If white gets it I think we'll win something

Winning stuff is a fairly important indicator sure but again, the 2007 world cup was a stroll in the park for South Africa in a way that the 2003 cup wasn't for Australia.

I guess so but it doesn't matter where he seems to go he gets his team playing an effective winning style of play.

And Eddie Jones hasn't coached at the elite end of the game for over 6 years ...

Eddie Jones' CV in terms of trophies does include Super Rugby, Tri Nations and RWC (with SA in 2007) ***les to be fair.

But he's back in it now, coaching internationally and has taken a lower ranked team to 3 world cup wins - including against the Springboks - who ran New Zealand the closest this tournament despite some issues.. Probably as much of an achievement to beat them and Samoa than to beat 2007 England twice, I'd say...

For me it's not so much the length of time out as the evidence that they still have it when coming back to it.

That I can't deny!!

I'm just itching to see the back of Farrell Snr. He is poison in the set up. The longer he is still in a job there the less comfortable I feel.

Got a ticket for murrayfield, so hopefully I get to see the start of a new era.

I doubt it though.

Since I can't think of a better place to put this, I'll drop it here - taken from Ackford in the Times:

"In the agreement between the RFU and the clubs there is a clause that allows the England head coach to ask that clubs play players in a specific position and for a process of resolution to kick in if agreement cannot be reached. Quite why that was not invoked for Sam Burgess is unclear, but the provision exists."

If true, that does remove at least one of my criticisms on structure.
