Roebuck in for May, no other replacements named (yet?)
I quite like Roebuck. Solid player who does all of the basics well. But over the alternatives? Between selections like him and Porter it really just seems like Jones is striving for mediocrity.

Yeah I'm surprised at it too tbh,
He's in really good form but is still green
It could well be to stop Scotland sniffing about - he's turned down invitations to Scotland's squad twice before

I had no issue with Watson being left out of the original squad. But when he hits his straps he'll be involved, so with these injuries why not include him now for continuity? More value there than Roebuck in my book.

Or why not Hassell-Collins or Radwan? Roebuck is decent but not on the level of either of those two.

Jones has had a look at both and for whatever reason clearly does not like what he sees.

Doesn't sound like Arundell's injury is too serious.

Id have had a look at Loader...he looks good...and why not Ollie Sleightholme?

Edit - Having said that Roebuck is 3 tries in 5 games and playing in a good side, so maybe its a smart call up...

"Ah, he's not the finished article yet, mate. He knows what he needs to work on..."

It happened to OHC and it'll happen to Roebuck. The trend for calling up players before they're ready, telling them they're not good enough, then wheeling in the next shiny thing for similar treatment under Jones continues.

England currently have lots of wingers who are good at the running fast and the scoring of the try. Maybe they're not world class at the being an auxiliary flanker (though OHC is a big unit, certainly bigger than Roebuck).

Meanwhile, Jack Nowell continues to play 6.5 for Exeter with Tshiunza goal-hanging on the wing. Eddie likes this.

Atkinson in, for me... he's class and in great form. Deserves that spot.

Well Manu will break down shortly so we can just bring in his replacement Lawrence soon enough...

As good as we are going to get. I still think a Lawrence or OHC/Loader should be in there. Still think Marchant over Joseph but thats just for me.
It most definitely isn't just you ;)

Joseph clearly has masses of potential, but right now Marchant is a more rounded player at the peak of his powers. How/why he is ignored still baffles me.

BPM, the only logical answer is that he huffed Jones on the Aussie tour...another reason ill be happy for Jones to move on.

Eddie Jones with the new Album ... "Making odd squad selections", a compilation of his best hits including...

"Au Revoir Steffon"
"Ben you're a 9 now"
" Thorley the Flanker"
"I don't like outside centres"
"oh the half time sub/cut"

On a different note, didn't know that Thorley has the quickest 100m of any England player, at 16 ran the 100m in 10.6 seconds.
