Italy prop Martin Castrogiovanni looks set to miss the rest of the Six Nations after sustaining a rib injury against England on Saturday.

Big, shaggy-haired blow for Italy. By far their best prop and could be best prop in the 6N

Aye the replacement tighthead is pretty bad. Healy should destroy him if hes on form

A big blow for Italy but the replacement will now get his chance to hold the position as catro is coming to the end of his international career in the next few years.

The Treviso scrum dominated Saracens' Stevens and Gill in the Heineken Cup recently and didn't do badly replacing Castro against England, so I don't see how an average scrummager like Healy will "destroy" him

Blimmie , that's really bad news. Hope Italy can keep their momentum and start winning some gameS.

Do not understimate Lorenzo Cittadini.
He's equally stronger in scrummages as Castrogiovanni: he's stronger and bigger, but a little less smart and technique.

The biggest problem is, of course, in the open play because Castrogiovanni is one of our most important ball carriers, in this case is not easy to fill that shoes! :(

A smart prop I have never heard of such a thing :D

Well, he never said Castro was smart in the first place. He said the replacement is 'a little less smart'

Same as saying that a backline player with an IQ of 50 is a little less smart than your average backline player.

A thinking prop can be a dangerous beast. Most props at my level are happy with a cold pint, a packet of crisps and unlimited 20p's to play wack a mole with when the fair is in town :D

How little is this World!
My props too ahaha :D just change the drink sometimes.

What I mean: Castrogiovanni is a crafty tricky prop, because he's got helluva experience, he is strong and he is a technician of the scrummages!
Cittadini doesn't have his experience, he was a great prospect few years ago, before a nasty injury sidelined him for almost 2 years, and he missed chances to build experience at test level when he was very young!

But he's bigger and stronger than Castro, and he has a great technique anyway!

Huge blow aye...just what they needed ! So unfair...
If I remember correctly, historically Italy's never won more than 2 games during a 6nations tournament.
They're set for a nice wooden spoon again...

No, Italy look better than Scotland.

I prefer women myself, but each to their own...

If Scotland were to play Italy next week and I were a betting man, I would probably put my money on Italy. They just look more likely to actually win a match in my opinion. Playing wise I would say we have had the better play and controlled possession so far, but Ialy have had far fewer chances and converted several of them.

However there is a very good reason I am not a betting man!

Tell me about it had to take him out of my fantasy rugby team so so sad.

Heard a rumour Castro is being rushed back for the Wales game.

Wouldn't fancy going up against the Welsh scrum with a broken rib myself...

Yep I have heard he is available for Wales well best of luck to him.

h's just in the squad but I guess he will not be fielded for the game in Cardiff and will be saved for the last game

there are rumors that Brunel will not select his best XV for Wales in order to better face the (probable) woodenspoon/whitewash decider vs Scotland in Rome (the Olimpico is almost sold out, 69.000 tickets alredy took place)
