Aviva Premiership 17/18 - Round 6

Le Roux's having a shocker

...although he did bosh off Jamie George as I typed that!

I feel the ref is favouring Saracens.

Although, Wasps are shite. Hope Young's does replace Gatland in the future.

I wonder how many times you can say hat trick hooker.

That Jack Willis is looking good

Often hard to tell what's really going on from the stands, but the score line flattered pests.

Good news for the English pack, George goes home with the match ball, Itoje looked good at 6 and Kruis had a decent run out. Will be keeping a close eye on Isiekwi, looks a serious unit.

Do wonder about the wasps conditioning though, Haskell, Johnson and Moore (total barrel - surely no doctor would say that's healthy) in particular look like they're carrying far too much bulk and even Marcus Watson seems to have grown a massive pair of shoulders.

Marty moore has always been really really fat, to be fair
Considering he's decent enough in this shape you have to wonder what his ceiling would be if he had some self control/commitment to being a better athlete

Ok that was weird, maul breaks away but is then called a tackle when it went to ground... Either it's still a maul and so isn't a tackle when it is stopped or it isn't a maul any more and it was obstruction! He treated it as a maul allowing the player in front to block the Bath player coming in but then doesn't let that same Bath player lie over the ball to prevent release as he can in a maul. Now led to a try. **** decision.

Thomas playing **** too, he literally has messed up everything he has done since he came on.

Was the ball clearly on the ground when the pk was awarded?

It wasn't a penalty. The point was there was a maul and part of it splintered off. A player was in front of the ball carrier and was hit by a Bath player, causing all 3 to fall to the floor. The Bath player ended up lying over the ball carrier preventing release and was told to move as it was a "tackle" and yet the person he had tackled had been the on in front of the ball carrier. If it was a tackle then it was obstruction. A try followed on a phase or 2 later.
