Aviva Premiership 17/18 - Round 2

ROKO!!!!!

Can we start the Roko for England bandwagon again?

Monye seems much more keen on Roko now he's no longer competing with Yarde for an England place

I.. just scared my dog... and possibly burst my vocal chords

Outstanding defence all game from Bath.

Absolutely gutted for Watson though, he was playing very well, and it looks like he'll be out for a couple of months. I'm guessing he's done his AC.

From what I saw, Watson walked off with his arm supported. Looked like an arm injury rather than an AC?

Catrakilis went off after about 10mins on oxygen. It wasn't obvious what he did and he seemed to be standing OK, so I assume it's some kind of upper body injury?

AC joint holds your arm to the rest of your body.

Reports from the crowd though that he was wandering around without any support after the match; so probably not too bad.

Ah OK. Makes sense. To me AC is anterior cruciate (as in knee ligaments).

Anyway. Pleased to hear it doesn't seem to serious.

"Crushed throat" apparently

That's ACL; AC is AcromioClavicular - between the shoulder blade (A) and collar bone (C)

Without wanting to go I to details on Dom Ryan, my opinion is much as the same as the Matu'u incident in May, or North in December - excepting that I've not watched it closely enough to judge muscle tone etc so I won't claim active proof of lost consciousness

Their explanation that he was winded makes sense - he curled up slightly after he landed, and he did basically belly flop onto the ground from a foot or two in the air.

AC joint injuries are some of the most common in sport - basically any significant force to the point of the shoulder will do it. I wouldn't take him having his arm loose as a signal that it isn't his AC, my arm was much more comfortable loose when I did mine.

Depending on the severity/use of stem cells and hyperbaric chambers, it'll possibly be 6+ weeks.

Quins were good value for the win today.

For all his detractors, Yarde has started the season really well. He was one of Quins best he players last week and was definitely up there again today. MoM for me.

Personally, I like the fact that Bath and Saints won today. It definitely makes the league more interesting. I'm a bit sore Quins didn't land a BP today - it could have been a real opportunity given that most sides didn't.
