Australia vs England - 3 Tests - June 2016

Can't make a firm case of it being definitely pro-Sarries. What if he's just bigging up whichever English club was in the NTHC final?

I think you right, he's just being pro English rugby and Sarries are firmly in the lime light..

No evidence of bias for me. I think he'd have said it about anyone else in that position.

His first period at Sarries lasted 5 minutes and he's described the second as the worst period he'd had in rugby. If he is very pleased, its probably far more to do with the contributions of the English contingent.

All alone on this. That's okay, I'll just jump on a high horse if I turn out to be right and lord over all of you peasants. :p

Sinckler, Harrison and Waller likely to be in the squad, according to papers.

Manu likely out.

How has Sinklers scrummaging looked this season?
I've not watched a ton of Quins but I wasn't impressed with what I saw

Same as ever - straight pushing contest against anyone in the world = only one winner, never seen him pushed back even slightly.

But he struggles with guys getting outside his shoulder and pushing inwards.

I'd be very interested in seeing what someone other than whoever is coaching him at Quins can do with him - and I'm not entirely sure who that is, to be perfectly honest - was Kingston a prop?

Rowntree is there next season

Aus or Wales?

I know Rowntree is there next season, but I'm not sure who has been doing the scrum coaching at Quins for the past few years.... I'm not convinced that the scrummaging ability of their players has been capitalised on.

Australia.

Daily Mail reporting Ashton misses out on squad with Watson, Nowell and Yarde being picked

Halleh bleeding Lujah ! Thank god for small mercies !

Got to say I'm happy for Yarde! Has always looked liked he needed polishing for England, but four tries in seven tests, with two tries against New Zealand, speaks well in his favour.

So he's ****ed at international level then?
At least until he gets some proper "dark arts" training?

No, just regular scrummaging training.
But isn't this his....3rd? 4th? year of senior rugby?
Guys like Tomas Francis, Kieran Brookes, Scott Wilson, even 21yr old Paul Hill, don't suffer from this.

Is he the tighthead version of Andrew Sheridan? People are willing to overlook his scrummaging deficiencies because sometimes he can brute force his way clean through the opposition and his work away from the scrum is very powerful?

In his defence he did play full back until a few years ago. So he's had an equivalent amount of senior rugby, but missed out on up to ten years of junior scrummaging compared to his peers.

Besides, you can coach scrum trickery eventually, but you can't coach naturally weighing 19 stone.

Perhaps, but then explain the likes of Tim Payne and Paul Doran Jones :p

Sinckler does have all the physical attributes of a top level prop (especially as he's only 23 so a good 5+ years from a props prime) - I just question whether he's at the level for senior international caps ATM.
Saxons? Sure.
EPS tour? Hmm.
Some players just develop at a different level - while Sinckler is definitely physically able to mix it with the big boys, if what's been said above about his scrummaging is true then that's a big question mark over his head. At the top levels scrummaging is less about who is the bigger and stronger prop and more who is able to cheat and get away with it the most.

I guess Roko's face just doesn't fit; shoulda chosen Fiji.

That can only be coached up to an extent. The reality is that he'll need to have the natural instinct to work it out for himself. Not yet convinced he has.
