Sorry missed your post on this issue.
I have posted consistently I see as a none issue we fall in line vast amount of countries across the world and all of EU.
Once again I care not if stay the same or require what vast majority of others do.
Are we as a country so superior to others or just a late comer to modernist thinking on elections.
I just find it hard when some think this a retrograde step not just following a common convention.
As always I respect others opinion if I agree or not.

Not disagreeing with that, my point was purely about the postal vote and different to others. Why should people who physically vote not have to re-register every 3 years, but people with postal votes do? I don't see the difference, because both are open to people who might try to abuse it. I'm fine with everyone having to re-register, but I honestly see no reason to treat one group of voters differently to another.

In news that surprises no one it turns out the judge that threw out the case against BoJo for lying to/misleading the public is a member of the same gentleman's club as BoJos dad, and Michael Gove, and was a consultant for BoJo when he was mayor.

Old boys network alive and well and can't believe their luck in convincing the turkeys of this country to view for the next 5 Christmases. I don't understand how a worker up north from a poor background thinks the party that represents them is one full of privately educted toffs from wealthy backgrounds and a life of privilege...

Because Labour has lost all us so called working lakies by your own tongue.
Like the ***** who run momentum et all you only understand your own goals and not the public.
I voted labour from early 80s onwards, this lot deserve what the public ie. the voters give them so stuck up in uni education forgetting we don't we need to be educated ;we need a credible alternative.
Rant over.

You say you don't need to be educated... Sorry what planet are you on? All you've done is told me why you don't like Labour, not a single point in that rant about why voting Tory is any better. What do the Tories offer working class people? When have they ever had that demographics interests at heart? When in their entire history have they ever done anything to benefit to poorest on society or even your average worker? All the workplace laws regarding breaks, holidays, maternity and paternity leave, workplace safety and standards etc were passed under labour governments. The Tories have systematically tried to remove those repeatedly.

So again, do you actually have a reason to vote Tory? Can you name anything they have actually done? Why do I feel the answer will boil down to brexit and immigrants?

Sorry my chronic dyslexia made my post look crap.
To paraphrase.
I'm a life long labour voter .
My father was a steel worker
I lived at Gravely hill in Brum over looking Sbag junction being built.
Historically Labour have looked after workers but this manifestation of labour does not care it believes they should follow blindly not listening to what people want.
I've only twice since 83 not voted in labour in a general election and thankfully my local council is not destroyed by current thinking so I can continue voting for individuals who support views of voters.
National party is a busted flush.
The review Labour are bringing on hopefully will decide to be an electable party again .
I cannot support a party that dictates .
So you are clear every single person in my family bar myself works in public sector
All bar me had a Uni education.
All bar my wife is under 35.
All voted Labour previous.
None voted Labour this time.
As a generalization Labour needs to listen not pretend to be more educated ( my point) that's how it can win
Me I identify as a Democrat.
Please renege on the part I'm a possible racist as my wife is none English and im a remainer cant except your last statement.

Did you read the Labour manifesto? It was putting a lot more focus on workers rights, which have just been stripped by the Conservatives over the past week.

What do the 'people' want?

TBF they haven't stripped anything yet...they've just removed the safeguards that say they have to be at least be compliant with EU rules.

For those of us like me who feared a reduction in workers rights if we did leave the EU this is quite worrying but they've not actually reduced anything. Just taken the steps that would allow them to do so.

That does clarify things but you still didn't answer my question, why vote Tory? You still have only presented reasons not to vote Labour but not a single reason to vote Tory. Every complaint you raised there also applies to the Tories. Why not vote for any of the other left wing parties? Do you really believe a Tory government is better than even a Labour one that you think is very poor?

Clearly not the this version of the party.
Yes I read it.
Re hash of failed 70s and 80s policy .
I agree with re nationalising the Rail network but nothing else needless spending on things that aren't busy.
Free broadband when most can afford.

Only other choice in my constituency was LD.
The candidate was a busted flush from County Council and frankly Swinson came across as bad as JC.
Local Tory MP has been decent enough on issues relevant to local area.
Labour parachuted in London based candidate who was working for party.

Care to elaborate on the policies you didn't like, instead of a generalisation?

Perhaps more importantly, how about the policies you liked from the other parties?

Free broadband was a pipedream but their rationale behind it I liked.

Either way the election is over and Labour lost but to say they are not the party of the working class is a bit silly, IMO.

If you believe that the Labour elite are in their ivory tower, then what on earth are the Tory elite in?
