The way I see it now is that this Brexit now has to go ahead and as much as I hate it, I accept that such a big win means we have to leave the EU by the end of January.

2015 was pretty devestating as LD
2017 was personally disappointing after I worked hard to try help win a seat.

John McDonnell is doing a very good interview with Andrew Neil on BBC2.

Definitely the Brexit election, got nothing to do with policies.

McDonnell being ripped to shreds by Neil who wants to try to blame Brexit for everything. You don't fail that badly on one issue.

Everyone tried to say Corbyn would lose badly.

It's like saying the LDs only got destroyed because of tuition fees in 2015 it certainly a factor but it was far far more to do with enabling austerity and a conservative government in general.

Yep.
The reality was the majority said Corbyn was a poor leader.
Labour became a party that was run by it's vocal minority, how could they expect the majority of the country to vote for them.

I've flirted with the idea of the leaving the country but probably will now.

The Tories won't kill off the country as badly (or at least as quickly) as the left say, but I don't want to live in a place where people can watch 9 years of the Tories ******* absolutely everything up and then overwhelmingly vote for more.

Whilst this has definitely been about Brexit for the majority, especially conservative voters, there are wider issues that have begun over the last few years. Politics is becoming increasingly nationalistic in many countries and some politicians copying Trump/Bannon have realised that can say outrageous lies and get away with it as it will win them more voters than it will lose. On top you have the use of social media to increasingly mislead the public and create the narrative you want, rather than what is accurate. Combine this with a certain elements of media that are clearly biased it's a recipe for politicians to keep using the tactic. It will be a very bad and dangerous period if countries continue to elect demagogues, but I'm worried it will only continue if not increase as more politicians adopt similar tactics.

The loss of Labour seats are clearly in Leave areas.

What else could Labour have done to keep those votes though?

Support the Democratic position of the people and supported Brexit and had the chance to participate

I've got another 4 years locked into a mortgage (deliberately to ride out uncertainty of Brexit). Serious discussions to be had for once that is over.

Yeh I've been looking at the route of studying aboard and trying to move via that way.
Been considering a change of direction in my life and kinda of feel now might be the time.

I agree for example I don't ever see the tories selling off the NHS, or TBH much change in the NHS.
I don't know I just feel depressed and tired.

This on top of Leicester feels bad man.

I want to see the turnout records.

Or got hard against it. Honestly their complete lack of leadership on the biggest issue of the day hasn't helped. Had be dragged kicking and screaming into their half arsed approach.

Very possible and possibly deserved played it completely wrong early doors. Attacking Corbyn whom we'd have to work with was never going to yield anything good.

LD forums are very 'worried' for her. Not the same anger as there was for Farron who failed by being bad at our principals. Swinson was more about tactics.
