Unless I've missed something, the thing that confuses me is, why are the DUP considered so important still? I can understand why they were with May as they gave her a majority. I suppose if BJ gets some Labour rebels it might make up the numbers that left/were kicked out of the party. However I don't see it. If it's about having Northern Ireland on board, then saying the DUP speaks for the whole NI is a joke.

One of the many factors most people forget about the non-whipped-Tories many voted for May's deal and some are even pro-Brexit. They are just off their faces nuts to think no deal is even remotely sensible. Quite a number could conceivably vote for a Boris deal provided it's not stark raving bonkers.

A] Because that's still 10 votes they can't afford to lose.
B] Many other MPs have said that, on the NI side of things, if the DUP are fine with it, so are they, if the DUP aren't fine with it, nor are they - so they actually "control" something like 25-30 votes (assuming that those MPs weren't lying...)

Define "stark raving bonkers" - especially as it could conceivably not apply to anything Boris negotiates.

Because they are more corrupt than any other political party on these islands and can easily be bought off.

I get that, however I just feel the DUP have done a fantastic job of overstating their importance. Yes it's 10 votes, possibly more (though I believe most of those are the ERG types, so that's just Boris getting his own parties numbers. Not the extra he will need. In terms of representing NI, they have the same number of seats in the NI assembly as Sinn Fein and only 3 more seats than them in the British Parliament. I know Sinn Fein don't vote in the British Parliament, but somehow the DUP have made themselves the sole voice representing NI and it doesn't reflect reality. Especially now when BJ needs to secure the votes of those who no longer have the whip or some labour brexiteers who didn't vote before. Though I guess I can see that without those 10, BJ's chances are harder.

Well that goes for both the DUP and the Conservatives, I'm just surprised that the Conservatives are still pandering to them now and still throwing money at them.

Trump has said the Kurds are worse than Isis.

He's just so....******* stupid.

Deal done with the EU, Boris says the DUP are backing it but earlier today the DUP said no.

Everything I'm reading says DUP not on board.

Every grubby little secret and dirty trick in the whips' book will be coming out for this one.

Reports earlier today said that the DUP did not accept the deal because of the VAT confusion, customs issue and the lack of a Unionist Veto (effectively their own EU version of the petition of concern).

Definitely the thing which caused their rejection of the deal would be the lack of a Unionist Veto.

Labour whipping for a 2nd referendum
This has always been the true endgame (this is the first time Labour have whipped for it), if Boris caves to it the deal will pass easily.

Basically instead of agreeing to end it by a democratic majority they want their own personal veto...

Farage unsurprisingly not backing it mainly because he becomes a political irrelevancy if passed and he backed it. He only get airtime whilst 'pure' Brexit is unacheivable.

**** me am i getting tired of all these.
"I'm not a fan of brexit, but we need to agree with this deal and just get on with it stuff"

Like please if your not a fan of Brexit then you would never want it passed....

Do hope this gets done now. 3 years of ******* about by every side has led to a great deal of uncertainty. Everyone needs to move on now.
