What to do with a problem like Saudia Arabia?

They now admit the journalist died during a 'fist fight' in the building.

Sweet FA probably. Too important in terms of oil and buying arms from the US.

Bombs sent to the Clintons, Obama, Soros, CNN and a few democrat sensors/candidates.

Obviously nothing at all with Trump defining the opposition, and the neutral press as being the enemy of the people, traitors, deserving of death etc etc.

But the left are the "uncivil" bunch... when faced with actual treason, violence, sexual assaults, corruption etc (ironically, Fox had to interrupt a piece on exactly that in order to comment on the CNN bomb)

Apparently there were reports that a bomb was sent to White House but apparently that was a lie. I wonder who leaked that.

What's most worrying is how huge swathes of the right wing are immediately trying to frame the left for the attempted bombings and making out it is a false flag operation. This incident really highlights just how off the rails the right in America is atm, they have completely lost the plot.

Just seen more comments regarding the bombs...

Seriously America, you have ****** up BADLY. The people of that country are utterly insane and have no ability to grasp reality any more, they have completely lost the capacity to tell fact from fiction or friend from foe any more.

6 November mid term elections will give us the clearst indication of whether the US electorate endorse Trump's Presidency of the last two years. So here's hoping the anti Trump vote comes out in force and brings his Presidency to a standstill.

Still, Democrats have to come up with a viable candidate to challenge him for 2020. Is Bernie still the best they can do?

Apparently the dude liked to post rugby pics on twitter saying how it was a real sport.

Also my uni was found on one of his many bumper stickers.

Dude was a nut.

Bernie can't beat him....Elizabeth Warren is probably the strongest bet, you can tell by general snipes at her claimed Native American heritage by the right they are genuinely scared of her. Joe Biden is another strong candidate. There's also Kamala Harriss but I don't know of her well enough.

There does seem to be a number of decent candidates coming through for the Dems but it feels like 2020 might be too soon for a number of them to build the required base - Dems will split the vote amongst them whereas Trump already has his rabid fanbase.

What is Biden like as a politician/guy? All I really know of him is his bromance with Obama, but he seems decent enough.

Andrew Gillum seems great, from what I've seen on social media (he's running for Florida atm, so is a while off a presidential push).
Same with Beto O'Rourke running against The Zodiac Killer in Texas. Texas going Democrat would be wild - been 25yrs since their last Dem senator. Would signal a big shift.

Trump has already come out and said it would've been averted if there had been an armed guard on the door.

Does he really want to live in a country where every place of worship (plus schools cinema's malls etc) need armed guards constantly to prevent massacre?

Pretty much. The NRA would love it. Don't forget the words of the NRA president: "...to kill a bad man with a gun, you need a good guy with a gun."

just found out one my best friends has a dutch passport... working on the proposal right now

this week we've had 12 bombs sent to people left of right wing extremist and jews killed in their own house of worship... we aren't a civil society

So budget,

20 pound a month tax cut for low wage earners.

100 pound a month additional tax cut for high income earners.

Tax bribe for the middle class. I want to see how NI thresholds have changed. They never announce what these are in the budget, but it will likely be giving with one hand and taking with the other. Income tax cuts are always headline grabbing.

Lettings' relief being restricted to those who live in the property whilst letting it out. Basically a reaction to the Air BnB. That's worth £40k relief or @28% £11,200 CGT
for anyone selling their residence who have moved out and let it out. This is on top of the last 18 months being reduced to 9 months.

Upper middle classes I'd argue, I'm at the cusp at what was the 40% threshold and I struggle with my income to claim being 'working class' which is also why tax relief on the upper threshold annoys me so much. I know how well I cope and anyone on it claiming 'its hard' is frankly lying or extremely terrible at their personal finances (I say extremely because I'm terrible).

I'm all up for anything that shafts landlords, I got royally screwed by mine yesterday (repair work changed the decor of the housem is not of the quality of what we originally had and theres sod all I can do about it).

In this case yes absolutely as a tenant so my landlord can claim relief I have to sign away rights to occupy the property for a long term period (meaning even if I ask for a long term contract it only binds me into it not the landlord). I get no benefit as a tenant but my landlord laughs their way to the bank.

Feel free to call me cynical, but I think Hammond sees a leadership contest &/ general election in the near future.
This is a nice bribe to be remembered by voters in either event "Remember who ended austerity. Remember who cut your tax burden."

Hammond is probably our only chance in the cabinet of stopping Brexit, I get the impression he's a moderate Tory in the vein of Major or Clarke. I think in terms of Tory reforms and actually realising there are people at the bottom who aren't just scroungers. He's certainly no evil tory ******* like Rees-Mogg, Johnson, Davis & Hunt (out of the high profile ones, plenty of evil ******* MP's, same issue with far-left people in Labour mind)
He'll only win a leadership election post-Brexit when he can't do a damn thing about it, if he ran before that he'll be torn to shreds due to his views on Brexit.
