A Political Thread pt. 2

He also describes himself as a tall, white, working class, American in his book but he's 5ft7

What a chode

An absolute copper nanotube. Standard procedure for Trump and his lackeys though, attack all of Americas allies (except Israel) and praise dictators. Starmer will almost certainly be questioned on this comment from a potential future vice president.

They are all going to get on fine. Especially after are foreign secretary's previous comments about Trump. One big love in it is for the 'special' relationship.

General thinking is Lammy will be moved if Trump wins. Lammy is a legitimate friend of Obama which is why he was put in place.

So we have to change our Foreign Secretary, but they'll quite happily keep their VP. I know Britain is in a **** situation, but I really don't like the idea on bending over and being shafted by a Trump Presidency.

Lammy also referred to Vance as a friend when he met the Trump camp in May.

It makes little sense to appoint a foreign secretary and have them meet with the potential President's team. Knowing you'll potentially move them on in five months and appoint a new one. At best that's poor planning and judgement.

Yet if it was Republican, they would be calling it a witch hunt and doing everything possible to prevent any sort of accountability. This is why the "both sides" stuff is complete crap, the 2 sides are not the same.

some of these could probably go in a "memes" or "funny stuff on the internet" thread

Shame this, as someone who spent quite a few years working in logistics, many as a manager it was always productive to have a union even if it was only to keep things honest regarding disciplinary and safety concerns. Amazon (with the possible exception of Sports Direct) have the absolute worst reputation for it's treatment of staff and the initial walkout was about an insulating pay rise after COVID. Having the GMB in one of their depots would have had a knock on to others and frankly Amazon need a kick for it's behaviour.
