A Political Thread pt. 2

She really is a vile horrible cow. Anyone who actually likes her needs their head examined. It's scary that she seems to have so much clout in the Tory party. I get that she appeals to the far right but do they really think the Tories could win an election with her in charge? It's mental that someone like that was put in charge of the home office. Sunak shouldn't have reinstated her after he sacked her the first time.

He didn't? She resigned under Truss for breaching the ministerial code. Sunak then appointed her a week later.

I really don't understand how even people on the right can look at the Tories and think they are worth voting for. Hell even on the far right issues like illegal immigration (or legal) that is their go-to red meat, they have utterly failed with the largest numbers in history occurring on their watch. I cannot think of even a single policy position in which the Tories have not utterly ****** it up and I don't even mean recently. Ever since the Tories got a majority, what the hell have they actually achieved? Can anyone honestly say they have left this country is a better state than they inherited it? Yes even post banking collapse.

It's not even like they are trying but just not succeeding, they aren't even ******* trying. They are treating this all as a game and the whole country is suffering because of it.

There is a discussion to be had when it's simply a case of difference of political opinion. There is no discussion to be had when one side has completely abandoned any sense of competence or integrity and is ******** all over any pretence of being fit to govern. Think of the level of sleaze that was able to bring down the last Tory government and see how that completely pales in comparison to where they are now, and how rapidly they descended to it after Brexit.

Hundreds of millions in taxpayers money wasted on a scheme that wasn't properly thought out. Launched by Patel and BoJo and supported by three other Home Secretaries and two other PMs. Oh and leaving the ECHR won't make any difference as the scheme also contravened existing UN conventions. Let's see if their Plan B is to swap Rwanada for a slightly more 'safe' country. Get this shower of incompetent corrupt money wasting right wing tossers out now!

Their narrative will be "those pesky left wing judges are against us"

Reality: It was a terrible idea that many said they didn't want and it would never work in the first place. You wasted our money on this.

Apparently Braverman is chairing a meeting of up to 60 like minded MPs to work out their response.

Yes it was a waste of money. In reality many said they didn't want it but all polling indicates public support was more for than against. Realistically it'll also be Starmers problem in 12 months or so. No party is offering a real and credible solution.

I wouldn't read too much into that data other than its closer than it should be. 1 in 5 people are too thick to make a decision.

More people strongly oppose than str ngly support.

Somewhats on this question are people that probably want to see migration tackled but are unsure if this is the correct answer (it's not)

Does show 1 in 4 people in the UK I'd rather have nothing to do with. If you support that policy you're a vile human being.

It's a sad day for this country when a sitting government refuses to accept a unanimous ruling from the supreme Court and vows to change the law in order to push ahead with a plan that most of the country doesn't even support. I'm sure the EDL and self appointed Cenotaph defenders will sleep easy knowing the Tories have their backs.

The polling data from yesterday by yougov shows an increase in support

Unfortunately it's red meat for the Tory party / key voters. People have genuine concerns over migration, including impact on jobs, housing, demand on the NHS etc. Brexit fed on these concerns. When peoole, particularly in red wall seats were branded 'thick' 'racist' 'vile'. People wonder why they went f@ck you and voted for Brexit and support policies like Rwanda. Labour need red wall seats back hence why they've issued little of substance on immigration etc. Screenshot_20231115_144807_Samsung Internet.jpgAt some point what ever party is in power. They are going to need to address the concerns people have and engage with them about it. Rather than the left and right tearing lumps off each other.
