A Political Thread pt. 2

There is no way Braverman can do a successful coup and not call an election. I say no way, based on the passed few years, she could easily do that and somehow people still would wait for a GE rather than acknowledging that the Tories have trampled all over our democracy and don't actually give a **** about it.

Focus rightly on Gaza, but there are some serious questions about Israel's actions in the West Bank

I feel dumber for having read these

So now you all have to, so that I'm not alone

The counter protests today could be the spark rather than the Pro-Palestine March

No **** Sherlock.
It's pretty much the point.
They can't go around claiming that the peace march is violent unless violence happens, so they need to ensure that violence happens. After that, this and future peaceful marches will be further curtailed, and the police will have to bow to direct political interference, rather than the current, political pressure.

Although I have seen elsewhere, claims that people marching for peace, and people who self-describe as hooligans and neo-nazis are EQUALLY prone to violence...

Clashes have broken out as right-wing counter-protesters attempted to reach the Cenotaph in London.

A large crowd of people bearing St George's flags was seen walking along Embankment and shouting "England 'til I die".

A line of police attempted to stop them from reaching Whitehall but the group pushed through, with some shouting "let's have them" as officers hit out with batons.

Bottles were also thrown at police by the demonstrators, many of whom were wearing masks.

The clashes happened just moments before the Armistice Day two-minute silence, when people across the UK commemorate the end of the First World War.

Now watch as Cruella finds ever excuse under the sun to make out the far right disrespecting the cenotaph is the fault of the left.

She will blame the Met and say you allowed it, you knew this would happen. It was your decision.

Also allowing Israel to get away with their indiscriminate punishment, bombardment and starving of Gazans is disgusting. I fear we are replace one religious extremist regime with another. Israel has been moving away from liberalism and towards extremism. Just as our support for Islamic extremists during the cold war played a role in the current situation, I think our role in turning a blind eye to Israeli war crimes will become a major issue in the future, just as it is for Gaza now.

Entirely depends on how the media portray this. Obviously Conservatives will try to blame the pro Palestinian protests, but depends on if the media will tow the line too.

The UN have already stated that war crimes have been committed by both Israel and Hamas. On that basis, how about the west grows some balls and pushes for an international arrest warrant for Netanyahu and the Hamas leadership? Netanyahu said Hamas are worse than ISIS - what a hypocrite. He's a barbaric war monger who isn't interested in freeing the Israeli hostages. He declined some of them being released in exchange for a ceasefire. Their capture gives him the perfect excuse to annihilate Gaza (and likely West Bank) and drive innocent Palestinians out just to strengthen his grip on power. It's his actions that actually endanger innocent Jews and Israelis both in Israel and overseas.
