How did he get so far? How people? How?
His so called charisma. It's not as though his supporters didn't know what he was like - had a track record of it as a journalist and as London Mayor.

The one good thing about this enquiry is it's totally destroying his legacy. He was always a Buffoon. Almost got himself killed by the virus and then was suggesting this.

Well done to the Met. As someone who has a very personal connection with Remembrance day I have absolutely no problem at all with this this march. I would go further and say the freedom to march and protect are what people who we are remembering fought for.

**** sake.

Are Vallance and Whitty that stupid they didn't take this open goal?

If I were in their shoes; I'd have wholeheartedly agreed - and thrown ebola, cyanide and anthrax into the syringe just to be sure.

I'm forever baffled with the amount of **** the Tories have been involved in that people can still look at them and go "yup, that's the lot I want running the country". I'm unsure what horrible things are left for them to tick off the list.

Simple, the majority of that doesn't make the news or is buried under other stuff like stopping peaceful protests. Most people won't see that. For example, it was only reading that that I found out about Michelle Mone admitting to being involved in a PPE company that ripped off the government/country or that there is a spreadsheet of 36 sexually untrustworthy MPs given to new staff in the commons. That should be front page, but it isn't.

I'm finding a lot of people will also do a lot mental gymnastics to avoid reality too. They just won't accept a certain level of criticism of "good old boris" etc. It's ludicrous. I don't care what party it is, I expect a certain level of competence, decency and ability from those that wish to lead.

There is a common thread both here, in the USA and around parts of Europe in which the far right are embracing some of the most obnoxious, corrupt and disgusting individuals to be their leaders. It's going beyond mere political differences into a realm bordering on support for outright fascism.

I went to the Manchester march on Saturday.
Honestly they seem very aware on respecting the police. (Went after politicians for both parties) But they seemed to make sure to pay extra attention on thanking the police. Was interesting seeing 10 police guard a starbucks though.

The organisers was pushing everyone to go to London on this weekend 1 million set as the target

Given all the hateful bile Cruella spouts - is hate speech still a crime in this country?

I see the neo-nazis are going to gather at the cenotaph to defend the "true meaning of armistice day" and defend the memorial against those calling for peace.
Whilst being supported by the "Party of Churchill".

All whilst at the wrong place and the wrong time.
I'm sure London's Jewish community will also feel so much safer, knowing the the neo-nazis have their back...

My irony filter may just blow a fuse.

It's ridiculous and puts the Met in a really difficult position. Especially with the Home Secretary playing both sides and attacking the police.
Listening to jewish Londoners on the radio this morning, some of them are genuinely scared about this weekend. Some said they certainly wouldn't leave the house. Extremes on both sides are contributing to this.

This attempted genocide has really shown up the far right as racist thugs without a real cause. They've used it to support and enjoy the bombing of Arab children and action anti-Semitic violence and/or islamophobia fuelled violence.

Militantly championing the posthumously disgraced / always a massive **** Churchill is about as tolerant as they get.

The last few weeks have been so ******* draining that it's almost a testament to their lack of conscience that they're happy to continue. I've seen so many fresh corpses online, both Israeli and Palestinian, that I think I could get a job in a funeral directors. The only reason I haven't taken a detox is because this is such a harrowing time I don't think it's right to use my privilege to ignore it, if nothing else I must stay informed.

I think the protest needs to go ahead. It still hasn't resonated in UK politics that murdering innocent people needs to stop and isn't justified. Once the UK and the US get there the real difficulty of pressuring Israel to stop and finding a peaceful solution between a nation and an auxiliary terrorist army who would happily wipe the other demographic in their disputed territory off the face of the earth given the chance begins.

Think the mask has truly slipped in the last few weeks, there's a serious antisemitism problem in this country, but for some reason people refuse to acknowledge it
Noticing this myself here, although we have about 3,000 Jews in the country so not as obvious. Israeli propaganda conflating anti-Zionism with anti-semitism is helping a lot of anti-semites hide under the anti-Zionist moniker though.

A month ago I would have said I'm anti-Zionism but I don't think that wanting the Gaza Strip and West Bank to be given basic human freedoms under the Palestinian flag is the status quo anymore. A lot of people marking themselves as that genuinely want to see Israel removed from the map with total disregard to its inhabitants.
