BBC News - Conservative Party: Ex-chairman raised MP rape allegations with police - report

Tories can't get through even one week without more sleaze, scandal or corruption. They must be finished now. Forget failing at governing, that are failing at just being decent human beings.

Next week there is potential for counter-protests and violence.

So much for the free-speech brigade supporting free-speech

This is the reason I think the protests shouldn't be allowed to go to the cenotaph - there will absolutely be BNP types there "protecting" it and there will inevitably be clashes (especially as there's an element at the marches looking for violence without that provocation - four people hospitalised at the London march yesterday)

I think the police not policing the marches properly doesn't help either - a couple of weeks ago had people chanting for jihad, tons of antisemitic banners and chants, yesterday had people with swastika banners
Its emboldening the protestors who are there in bad faith

I read somewhere the plan for pro Palestine march was going nowhere near to Cenotaph.

However heres your problem.

The Cenotaph is outside Downing Street

Now are you saying marches can't go past the heart of government? That really doesn't sit right with me.

On any other day? Fine
On Armistice Day when trouble will be almost guaranteed? Not fine, for me (YMMV)

Policing should be about avoiding conflict, on a case by case/event by event basis

When they say free speech, Tice and co mean they want the freedom to spout whatever rubbish they want unfiltered without consequence. Anything that goes against their twisted logic should be deemed "woke" or you being labelled a "snowflake"

Despite the fact they are the biggest snowflakes around.

Just checking the Stop the War website for the Pro-Palestine March on 11th November 2023.

It's scheduled to start at 12PM at Hyde Park and march to US Embassy, Nine Elms Lane, London, SW11 7US

Now looking at Google maps the most direct route is no where near Downing Street or the Cenotaph.

Yeah, but one protester might glance in the direction of the Cenotaph while reaching for their water bottle and we all know the next step is. Riots on the street, the Cenotaph being pulled down and some smug arsehole sitting with his feet up at the prime minister's desk in number 10 happy to watch the country burn down around him.

So it's on a Saturday anyway?

They held one on Saturday 21st October when I was in London. Started at Speaker's corner, Hyde Park and I think they marched down to Downing Street. Police were everywhere.

Yup. I just noticed that as well. Didn't even realise.

There'll be no Cenotaph parades though right, as they always occur on the closest Sunday to the 11th?

The minutes silence will happen obviously
