A Political Thread pt. 2

OK, It's bizarre to find a hypocrite who's racist in public but privately not. It's usually the other way round.
To be fair to Farage, I don't think he has ever expressed a dislike of Europeans per se but of the EU. Sure he's your typical chest beating "Make Britain Great Again" nationalist but I think it was done out of a desire to have the country on a plate for him as his cronies so they could try to profit off it rather than a hatred of European people. In fact I think most of the people at the top pushing Brexit did so because they saw a chance to remove blockers to allow them to further enrich themselves and an easy rallying cry for the nationalists of the country rather than any real views about the EU one way or another.

The people who voted for Brexit though, that's a different matter. Not all Brexit voters were racist nationalists but you can be fairly confident that the people who are racist nationalists voted for Brexit.

Numerous Bishops have voting rights within the Lords, Bishops of Manchester, Nottingham etc. They get the gig with the job. Unelected people having a say in a democracy is arguement for another day.

I knew this, I'm wondering when the last time they actually flexed their voting muscles was or spoke out against voting for a government bill. Much like the King I had assumed they stayed mostly out of their legal rights.

From 2020 The Archbishops voted on about 28 things from what i can tell. The last being an amendment to the new public order bill. I think it's very rare for them to publicly speak out on mattters in the chamber or how they vote in the Lords.

Yet another bit of Brexit fanaticism U-Turned on as people realise what a destructive and completely devoid of thought proposal this was. Genuinely amazed how anyone in this country can still look at Brexit, both the idea and the implementation, as anything other than a ******* mess.

The government ******** all over the rules again because they know there are no consequences. Remember Brexit was about "regaining sovereignty"? In this country, by law Parliament is sovereign, and yet the government have shown a complete disregard for parliamentary procedures numerous times. Having said that, Lindsay Hoyle is a feeble speaker afraid to really hold anyone to account. The numerous lies Johnson told without ever correcting the record, frequent breaches of the ministerial code, constant ruckus in the chamber, he has no ability to function as speaker.
