So Conservatives previously said they could lose over 1000 seats if things went bad. You know, so they could try to put a positive spin on losing.

Currently on -940. Only 60 away now.

Edit: Another 30 councils roughly still to call, 200 out of 230, so plenty of time to hit 4 figures.

They've lost control of more than half their councils, from 78 down to 32.
Labour have moved from 49 to 79.
Lib-Dem from 17 to 28.

With 8 councils remaining, it's technically possible for LD to overtake Tory!
Labour have also overtaken conservative for the number of councillors (lib dem way behind there)


We also still need to see how well the voter suppression worked (not that it'll be accurate, given that they also suppressed the measurement of the suppression). Ward next-door to mine the 2nnd Tory got through by 4 votes. I know one person who was turned away there (and didn't stick it through to be recorded as turned away) though I don't know how she'd have voted.

Sky predicted a hung parliament based on the national picture today with Labour apx 28 or so seats short of a majority. Not seen much from other sources. Other than The National claiming it could all boil down to SNP at Westminster. All to play for but a big positive from Labour.

I don't particularly support the protests; but unlike QEII's funeral, this IS the right time and place.
I fully support their right to protest here and in this way.

I do NOT support the fascist policies seeking to ban them - these policies and OTT reactions have definitely shifted me into the anti-monarchy camp.

They have been doing the mass interception of communications data thing at GCHQ for years. ANPR cameras, mobile phone location data you name it. Pretty much since 9/11 and the increase of tech the intelligence agencies went wild.
