A Political Thread pt. 2

Anyone else watching Depp v Heard?
Pretty interesting.

Heard lawyers are the stereotypical shark lawyers.

As someone who is a big fan of law drama's this has been really interesting.

Also DR Shannon Curry is 100% goals.
"Mr Depp, what was your recollection of the day?"
"Well..."
"OBJECTION! Hearsay!"

Loved Heard's lawyer objecting to their own question, it was hilarious. Also pretty shoddy to constantly keep objecting based on hearsay but to then use gutter press headlines as evidence of what Depp was like...

Now this is interesting. The polish company says it is a violation of their contract, but what are they going to do? Sue them? This isn't a company decision, it's a Russian state decision and how would it be enforced even if a court agreed Gazprom had broken their contract?

It's even more interesting that certain companies with franchises are still operating in Russia due to contract obligations. It's ridiculous that Russian companies will have no issue breaking contracts, but western companies are worried about being sued.

- More false flag rubbish, this time in Moldova. Confirms that the Russian general wasn't going off message sadly.
- The US defence secretary saying the key to winning a war is "believing you can win". Please put him back in his cupboard and stick with Blinken.
- Germany supplying tanks, but only those that target planes (didn't know that was even a thing).
- Some nations clearly trying to egg on others to get on board with supplying heavier weaponry contrasted with UK saying they are happy for UK weapons to target Russian soil (which to mean seems a heck of a lot more aggressive than supplying jets and tanks for use in Ukrainian territory)
- Russia threatening nuclear war and that Ukraine will be dissolved into different states (e.g. Donbas becomes Russian and south becomes puppet regime). Last week it was world hunger they threatened, so that's two horsemen of the apocalypse cuddly Putin is dangling (but of course, it is NATO that is evil).
- Finland and Sweden accelerating NATO membership push and will get interim security assistance from US and UK

They are not tanks, they are Anti aircraft platforms that have been obsolete for over 10 years because they were useless against helicopters and fast jets. They could be useful against drones but they are lightly armoured and useless against Russian tanks. The Germans should have sent the Leopard 1 tanks they have in storage which although also old are a proper heavy platform that the Ukrainian army have been asking for.

It was said at the time it was a stupid decision.

Out of interest are there any consequences for acting unlawfully or is this like all the other times the government has been found to have acted unlawfully and there are no consequences other than correcting the record for posterity?

Might be more distracting than Rayners legs.

PMQs is depressing as hell today more than the usual level of BS

Angela Rayner's legs were clearly so provocative that the guy couldn't help himself. He's a victim in all all this and the real blame lies with that hussy who dresses like a prostitute to distract Boris Johnson (business suits are all the rage in strip clubs I hear these days).

Yeah, it's silly to help now when people are struggling. Let's wait until they are further in debt and when things get worse.

Nothing sums up this government like, "let's wait and see, hopefully it will magically get better on it's own"
