2nd Test: South Africa v Lions

Your Lions are guilty too...

What about the countless, COUNTLESS high tackles by the lions? I cant believe they didn't get carded, you guys can be lucky. I think most of the penalties we got was because of some Lion player tackling too high, some of your boys threw punches too.

Burger was an idiot and I agree the guy should be out of the game for a few months.

How the hell did we go for O'Driscoll if he went for Rossouw?

I'm willing to bet that Dde Villers or Smit, or any member of the Springboks leadership, amitted they where shaken at half-time, and just highlights the players who where good, (Adam Jones, Gethin Jenkins, Jamie Roberts, Brian O'Drsicall, Tommy Bowe) and went for the dirtiest hits they could possibly use in order to immobilise the Lions.

Look at who was performing well in the first half, then look at the injury list. It's surely not a coincidence. Kearney was lucky to get out unharmed.[/b]

Intresting point.

Although O'Driscoll's injury was self-inflicted

Great the Welsh boys are the the ones that get injured once again we will no doubt have a poor AI and possibly 6 Nations due to injuries.

Adam Jones injury was so severe to his shoulder that Dr James Robson could not put his shoulder back in the stadium medical facility and it required surgery. To me if Botha has caused this injury then im afraid the book should be thrown at him. An injury like this could end his career.

Burger should be banned in my opinion full stop. Arguably the dirtiest player in the world and is given chance after chance by the IRB. Wonder when they are going to punish him properly?

Also thanks O'Gara good lack of discipline there cost us the game.

All in all SA played well and had a stunning comeback, what rugby is all about for me.

Thanks a lot Mr O'Gara for letting Fourie walk all over you on his way to the Boks' 3rd try and for screwing everything up in the dying seconds... I suspect it's gonna take a long time until you can sleep at night again...

I honestly don't know what to say about some of you guys...[/b]

Maybe just as well, this arguement will go on for a long time.

6 of one half dozen of the other in terms of dirtiness, but in terms of play the better side have won.

Hope next Saturday is as good if not better than the previous 2 matches.

I think both teams were evenly matched, we just managed to win thanks to an O'Gara brainfart. Essentially, a draw would have exactly reflected the game. Lions won the first half, we won the second.

I am ashamed about the Burger thing though. He should have been red-carded. Can't believe he does that within the first 5 minutes of his 50th game. I hope he goes away forever.

They made the biggest mistake with Burger starting, he's going to give away 6 penalties in the 1st 15mins and before 20mins be sent-off with a yellow card, hope POC can slap him off the field so that they can send Brussow on :p[/b]

See I wasn't too far off, okay well maybe abit seeing as he only gave away one penalty in the 1st 15mins and got a yellow card just 30 seconds in  , **** that must be a new world record  .

I can't believe the stupidity of PdV trying to defend Burger after the match in the post match interview saying that the officials were to quick in making their decision to give Burger a yellow card :toss: .

Then to crown it all, in today's newspaper PdV said that he will still start with Burger if he is not found guilty, wtf?.of course he is going to be found guilty you stupid c**t :rahh: :%#%#: :wall: .Plus he said that he will also still start Ruan "can't kick to goal" Pienaar ahead of Morne Steyn and that Morne's winning kick was just "a nice kick"

 A nice kick?
that guy has some problems
at this rate he might even try starting Burger next week too <_<
can't believe De Villiers said 'I don't believe it was a card at all'.

De Villiers is the biggest idiot in history, apparently his being called for his racist comments though, is there hope?

Maybe some Lions and Bok supporters could go visit him in the night, hell we would finally be civil to eachother by handing the bat to the other guy saying: "Nah, you hit him for a while"

I had so many things to say after the game but I just didn't find the words to express... How amazing you are Springboks!
no comment really! I'd better keep my comments to myself for now.[/b]
How amazing they relied on our four key players coming off to win the match?

That was it really. If if's and but's and whatever, but uncontested scrums lost us the game. Brussow was excellent. Fourie played well, but calling a charge on the worst defensive flyhalf in the universe 'awesome' is a tad exaggerated.

If our four broken players come back fit next week, and the morale hasn't been too broken, we'll win.
The side that started the test was better than South Africa.

You have beaten the record of using "If". Stop crying and giving us ridiculous excuses, I was able to say too IF the Boks didn't play with 14 players after just 30 seconds, If Brussow, Fourie and Morné had started if if if ... then the game would have completely looked different. It's desirable to be confident and optimist in sports but you'd better be logical (I can't forget your post "lions by 20"). I should remind you that South Africa is the strongest team by far and if you don't admit that, you will do after seeing your little lionesses getting back home with a 3-0 loss. Cheers

Hows the sour grapes tasting this evening? Don't drink to much of it or you will get a bad gut. Snoop win or lose against Wales or Ireland this year it matters not as we are the World Champions. What is your team currently?[/b]
My teams are Grand Slam champions, Triple Crown winners, Churchill Cup champs and Heineken Cup ***le holders at present. These have all been achieved in the last calender year. Remind me how the Boks did in the last calender year in the only international tournament of note (for them) - bottom of the Tri Nations if memory serves me correctly. My national team have also beaten the Boks the last two times the sides have met. I'm pretty satisfied with our lot.

Didnt the Bulls just win the S14 for South Africa plus they are the IRB sevens champions  ..

Ahem, so your logic is never be positive before matches and never think about stuff that changed the game and what would have happened if this stuff didn't happen? And 'Little Lionesses'? Nice alliteration there tbf, but seriously losing by 5 in the 1st test and by 3 to the last kick of the 2nd is hardly a weak display, as you've implied in your quite sexist alliteration.
But you have to admit that Speedy has a huge point, losing Jnekins and Jones lost us our scrum dominance, which was a major factor, because the un-contested scrum gave the Boks the steady platform they just didnt; have when Jenkins and Jones had the big upper hand. While losing Roberts and O'Driscoll screwed up the backline, and tbh you're a bit screwed when you have Ronan O'Gara at 12 with someone like Jaque Fourie in the opposing centres.

And I thought we're going to start being nice to eachother. tsk tsk tsk.

Any citing news yet?

Gosh, where to start?

1. I only used 'if' once. The other two times I was citing a well known saying.
2. Logical? Well ok, we were 12 points up at one point, and would probably have registered more IF the full strength Lions side came against them again, without any injuries plaguing them throughout the game, the Lions would win.

Granted, this only shows that the depth in Britain isn't quite good enough, even though the first XV is pretty damn amazing.

Also, I'd be confident of Wales' chances in the Autumn, if it weren't for injuries to Adam and Roberts and co...

Im sort of split on the one hand the Boks did play quite dirty but ive seen them be far far worse, ala England 2002. Except the gouge by Schalk both teams were equally as dirty with high tackles late hits and so on..

I just dont know why Schalk would do this, his 50th cap and one of the biggest games of his career and he does that after 20 seconds. Ashame as hes one of the real good guys off the field, once the best player in the world but now his star is waining a bit and with the emergence of Brussouw hes going to struggle to get back into the side.

You know I think your the first SA fan in this entire thread to say that :). I swear some of you really believe your team are a bunch of angels.

Its kinda sad really. I can understand it but thems the breaks (literally in some cases). I do feel the Lions were unlucky but maybe as an Irish fan you get used to losing when your not meant to. We have 10 years of conditioning to prepare us for moments like this. Well that and the fact that we've had a good season and can blame this defeat on ........... eh .............. ahhh f*** O'Gara ruined that excuse for us.

On the Injury front, Jenkins and Jones are definately out of the next test, O'Driscoll wont be playing either and Roberts is a serious doubt with his wrist. I'd imagine the coaching staff probably would have rested a few of em anyway, but this makes their mind up. Unfortunately it does highlight the lack of backup talent in the squad but should still be a fun game next week. Nothing to play for so both teams should open up.

I think Burger is a stupid dirty idiot, I'm pretty sure all SA'ers believe that even the most fanatic schalk-jokes posting ones.

The SA team might not be a bunch of angels, but the same goes for the B&I lions, both played dirty as hell.

Sir Speedy I hope you get castrated by a wooden spoon! :p

Wait no, only Burger deserves that...

I'd like to see Kankowski,Morne (Altho the coach said he wont) Oliver and Brussouw start.

Geez okes calm down.
As Incredible Schalk says it was pretty evenly matched in the rough stuff. The Lions gave out, the Boks gave back and vice versa. Are we gonna start drawing list of infringements that MIGHT have changed the game.
The Lions have been physical and hard this whole tour, the SA public and players welcomed it and didn't expect anything else. In both Tests the Lions were part of any rough stuff as the Boks were. Stop being bitter because it's misplaced.

I'm willing to admit South Africa are a brilliant side, but on the back of these two games, I can say with the utmost confidence that IF the full strength Lions side came against them again, without any injuries plaguing them throughout the game, the Lions would win.[/b]
Thanks for your williness to admit it, we Boks supporter really need to hear it. ;)

May I also point that the Lions might have of not come into the Tests unbeaten if our provincial teams weren't under strengthed. Two sides of the coin and all that.

ruan pienaar really didnt get going in this match :( LOL @ burger an idiot lol.

i still think F steyn should of taken that last second drop goal but thanks to o'gara we won lol
