Cracking game to watch, everyone in the pub was screaming for the last 15 or so minutes, incredible kick from Steyn. Great comeback by SA as well, wasn't expecting it to be that close after the first 20minutes or so. Suppose it went similarly to last week though.[/b]
Lol excuses already pouring in from the Lions. Never has a team visited our shores so arrogant or such poor losers. 2-0 is proof enough.
Burger aside the Lions were as dirty as anyone and once the Boks cottoned on to this the Boks calmed down and beat the Lions AGAIN. My only sad point in rugby terms is I have lost all respect for the Irish and Welsh who I always admired in rugby. Officially the biggest losers in the game.
The sour grapes from this BIL is sad to say the least.[/b]
However there is some shite being spouted here. This Lions team didnt start the test as a scratch team as I thought they were pretty solid all round the park. The Injuries in game became a big factor but you cant detract from the fact the boks were coming on strong at the time. I'm actually quite happy with how the Lions have performed over the two tests. We could throw in a lot of excuses e.g. End-of season fatigue, altitude, in game and pre-tour injuries, poor refereeing, idiotic selection, brain farts in the last minute ... blah blah blah blah. I just dont think they really apply. The Boks had to hang in when it was going against them and they did, their pack were monsters in the first test, and their backs turned up today. Most importantly, their bench had a huge impact, while ours was thrown in so early we lost that chance.
Maybe circumstances conspired against them, but I think they did well today. Of course I believe they deserved to win but thems the breaks.[/b]
great game to watch. Lions were absolutely superb, SA showed a bit of Bulls-like flair in striking back the lions straight away from the try. IMO, the game changed when Adam Jones got injured, the uncontested scrums KILLED the lions... alot of injuries stuffed the lions, the Springboks were allowed to catch their breath with no scrum (they were puffing, especially Smit) and therefore SA were more effective at the breakdown, the lions were absolutely aggressive, i loved how they gave it back to the boks, and sheridans punch in the nuts LOL best part of the game imo, didnt realise how good kearney was (dont watch NH rugby alot), he was outstanding. seemed like the boks were the enemy at their own homeground lol, thousands of Lions fans, i think they even outnumbered the SA fans O_O[/b]
Ok hold on, so all we need to do is offer "Just a few more acknowledgements of how well your opposition played, rather than the 90% bleating, 10% graciousness."
You mean like;

Thanks for your williness to admit it, we Boks supporter really need to hear it.I'm willing to admit South Africa are a brilliant side, but on the back of these two games, I can say with the utmost confidence that IF the full strength Lions side came against them again, without any injuries plaguing them throughout the game, the Lions would win.[/b]
How do you explain O'gara not even wanting to shake hands with the Emerging Boks?[/b]
Hi guys, been away at work for ages!
How did the game go?
EDIT: I jest, I jest...managed to drag myself out of bed and catch the game but I've been away for a week because work are short staffed and they need all hands on deck to make sure Bokkes can pay for braai equipment with their Visa cards, etc so NO MOANING, okay?
Anyway, an epic, epic game. Half of the people in the pub were local Clapham-ites (i.e. trendy left wing, Guardian reading luvvies who just watch Chealsea/Liverpool and Wimbledon before complaining about Fox Hunting and Grammar Schools) and this was probably their first ever game of rugby they've seen and it was up there for any cup final in any sport for sheer seat of pants excitement.
Hats off to a great nail biting win for the Boks, tremendous last minute stuff although I for one was gutted having spent most of the match using the well used QKXV tactic of yelling "HE'S BEEN DOING IT ALL DAY REF!" Thirty seconds into the game when the "Schalk Burger infringement drinking game of danger" got underway. I chose coming in at the side, my mate chose eye gouging and had to down a pint..lucky sod
I did notice that it was turning into Wrestlemania at times, for example see one of JP Pietersen's tackles:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kE0C5e5qtUg&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kE0C5e5qtUg&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
And then there was Bakkies Botha on Adam Jones:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-7ZFzJcvDxA&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-7ZFzJcvDxA&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
And then there was Luke Fitsgerald on someone, I think John Smit:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0BLIKm6UZKA&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0BLIKm6UZKA&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
I could go on, it was getting silly at times but provided much comic relief in amongst all the nailbiting tension.
In all, a superb game. 10/10. Legendary. I think one thing we can all assume now is because of how close both games were the Lions are safe as a team...for now.
Roll on Argentina 2013!!! [/b]
Results only tell half the tale. Anywho, I'm not gonna dispute those games. That's ancient history. Just saying I'd rather our coaches be arrogant shits than imitations of Gareth Jenkins.Last year we beat wales 3-0 and they still reckoned Wales were the better team.[/b]
