RE Bokke's point about being undefeated in the NH

Thats true but the boks didnt come to Croke Park....
I cant wait for the 28th of November but we'll have this discussion at a later date!!

It kills me to say but well done to the boks!!

Yeah. I think we have a better shot than the Lions all things considered (and I'm not saying that all the Irish players are better than their Lions Counterparts before someone bites my head off...though we could have done with Flannery and Ferris being fit).

...But you have Ronan O'Gara. ;)

Wellllll if Jonny Sexton starts that isn't a problem!!!!

And whoever said that those looked like made up quotes from Phillips and Heaslip I'm gonna go ahead and agree with. was gonna say it earlier but this isn't time for confrontation...it's tele time.

That sort of lazy, actually its not even lazy it's fake, journalism is what gets people into trouble.

Oh and was it just me or did Sheridan punch a South African in the gonads?
Yeah ****** myself laughing there. Smacked him a quick one in the nuts then turns around hands in the air with the most innocent look on his face saying "what?". Class funny.

Check it out. This has been the attitude the whole tour.
I dont agree with the general sentiment but they are dead right about Burger and I think they are right to be furious. Gouging is not like throwing a punch, its disgusting. The linesman clearly stated there was a gouge, I think they even used the word. If so it HAS to be a red card. The ref totally bottled that one and it was hugely influential.

On another point. Talking about sportsmanship, there was a lot of ****le all over the pitch. Bakkies was mouthing off all game, a lot of the boks patting Lions players on the heads when they f***ed up (poor form that), Captain Smit asking the ref to card a Lions player (its not football lads) etc. I'm in no way saying that it was just the Boks but it was most definately BOTH sides involved. Just the Lions are voiceing their frustration while the winners get to sit back and smile.

However there is some shite being spouted here. This Lions team didnt start the test as a scratch team as I thought they were pretty solid all round the park. The Injuries in game became a big factor but you cant detract from the fact the boks were coming on strong at the time. I'm actually quite happy with how the Lions have performed over the two tests. We could throw in a lot of excuses e.g. End-of season fatigue, altitude, in game and pre-tour injuries, poor refereeing, idiotic selection, brain farts in the last minute ... blah blah blah blah. I just dont think they really apply. The Boks had to hang in when it was going against them and they did, their pack were monsters in the first test, and their backs turned up today. Most importantly, their bench had a huge impact, while ours was thrown in so early we lost that chance.

Maybe circumstances conspired against them, but I think they did well today. Of course I believe they deserved to win but thems the breaks.

Oh and Shtove your probably right about the props, didnt think about it that way.

With the gouging, the linesman said 'It's atleast a yellow'. That's a fairly non-commital comment; why not just say it's a red and make the ref's job that much easier. Linesman's fault the proper punishment wasn't meted out for me!

Right, so a few points about this game.

to Peter De Villiers.
Playing Burger ahead of Brussow was as stupid a move as everyone said it would be, learn your f***ing lesson already, Brussow is a absolute monster and should be our #6 until Burger proves himself again in next year's Super 14 or something.

Morne Steyn is our best flyhalf and should definitely have started this game (especially with it being at Loftus), he would have been brilliant with Du Preez and Spies as it would have been the same golden line you got with the impressive bulls setup this year.

Jacque Fourie has to start ahead of Jacobs, Jacobs played better today but still missed crucial tackles and caused a few errors as well, what he did do well was make a few good runs which is exactly what we know he can do, but is why he should be the one coming on in the last 20 and not Fourie.

The game was fantastic, Lions played excellent in the first half, definitely deserved the lead they built up. Best game of the whole tour by miles, Boks showed exactly why they won the world cup, they can close a game out even in some testing conditions.

But seriously, well played to the Lions, at the very least it's been a very close series thus far and they deserve a lot of respect, I'm really getting tired of all the crap people are flinging at each other the last few games. Stop being so bitter and enjoy the bloody rugby, because I sure have, and definitely hope that the Lions make a big match of it for the last match, would love to see them go out with a ***anic game.

Three Cheers for rugby!

:bravo: :bravo: :bravo:

Burger shouldn't play for South Africa until June next year IMO, unless Brussouw is comfortably first choice by then after the 3N and November internationals.

Botha cited for taking out Jones? Not good. If you can't beat them ... That injury all on its own changed the game.

And ROG got a ferocious welcome as well. Men and boys, and all that, but still.

Not sure if Jones injury was intentional. A nasty charge but happens all the times in rucks. Looks like he was just unlucky to me.

I hope this game forces the IRB to let teams have 8 subs so they can cover all the front row plus all other positions. Uncontested scrums are a joke.

Don't blame O'Gara myself. That penalty was crap. He never tried to tackle the player or use a shoulder. Pretty bullshit penalty. I feel that penalty was a bit of robbery for the Lions. SA didn't make the call so don't blame them. Stupid reffing really after a pretty good reffing effort.

What the hell? He took Du Preez's legs out from under him and was making no attempt whatsoever to catch the ball. That is a penalty! Irrespective of how intentional it was, he still made a dangerous hit on Du Preez. Completely justified penalty.

Hows the sour grapes tasting this evening? Don't drink to much of it or you will get a bad gut. Snoop win or lose against Wales or Ireland this year it matters not as we are the World Champions. What is your team currently?
Not sour grapes at all on my part. To my mind the Lions is an outdated concept now driven more to sell subscriptions to Sky Sports and the like than as a sporting entity which was the case pre-professionalism. I watched today's game as a neutral of sorts who paid particular attention to how the Irish players played. With all due respect, I couldn't care less how Simon Shaw, Matthew Rees, Tom Croft et al fared. The best team won both tests. I've no doubt the Springboks will win the third test too. Hopefully that game will be as good a contest as the two which have already taken place.

My teams are Grand Slam champions, Triple Crown winners, Churchill Cup champs and Heineken Cup ***le holders at present. These have all been achieved in the last calender year. Remind me how the Boks did in the last calender year in the only international tournament of note (for them) - bottom of the Tri Nations if memory serves me correctly. My national team have also beaten the Boks the last two times the sides have met. I'm pretty satisfied with our lot.

He didn't wrap his arms around Rossouw. It was a dangerous hit.

If you can get a hold of the video, it bears watching again. O'Driscoll attempted to wrap the player up, but got the timing wrong. As they collided, he was catapulted backwards before his arms completed the wrap up. Not even a penalty, IMHO.

Man that Jacque Fourie bump off was nice as! Well done SA and i applaud the Lions for the way they fought back from last week and being better than the side that came to NZ :p
