[2021 Six Nations] England Squad

Himself doesn't count the law specifically says dangerous to others, you did read it right? I mean you did try to cite May for obstruction....

And you can't say what he did that was dangrous to the Italian player.....can't think why.

The only thing I can think that Owens can wrong be thinking of is you are being tackled (as in the player has physical hold you) try to jump free of their grip is probably pretty dangerous but again nothing dangerous about avoiding being tackled unless you outlaw avoiding in whatever manner.

I'll tell you what mate, I'll ask my old pal Nige what he would've penalised him for and get back to you.

Being English?

Oh I see what this is. I should've clocked earlier. You think this is coz I hate May and England like Owens clearly does which is why he's made up something you're not allowed to do and gone public about it. I'll be honest,
I couldn't give 2 shits about that try. I mean, it's Italy ffs.

And Nigel, I'm sure, has reffed some good games for you before. I didn't realise English fans were like that with Owens, though. Makes sense. It's like Welsh fans who think Wayne Barnes hates the Welsh.

Jonathan Kaplan has no bloody clue which law you'd cite him under either.

Which is why Owens really needs to detail his opinion citing either the laws or a world rugby directive that says this is not allowed. He says its against the laws so should be able to explain why with the actual law book.

I wonder why Owens' opinion is being more widely circulated.

This morning this thread was 19 pages. It's now 27 pages and not a single message in those 8 pages has anything to do with the England Squad.
Whats there to talk about in that regard? Sorry I really am ducking bored. Project I'm supposed to be working on basically was delayed by 3 days yesterday due to a Canadian bank holiday yesterday the guy running it forgot he had and now half term in this country with guys working on it this side of the pond.

Reminds me of the controversy regarding kyle sinckler at the end of the 3rd lions test. Where he was "tackled in the air" but he did kind of jump into the tackle

However regarding May, no way was it avoiding a tackle either. Just trying to avoid tackler pushing him into touch, he didnt actually jump over anyone

Watching it again he kind jumps to receive the ball on the pass (which if you use to receving from youngs these days is something you have to anticipate for), honestly that is a weird one. Technically the referee was right he was tackled in the air but there is no doubt there is a little the ABs players cold do. Reality is I think there was nothing dangerous either player did (Sinckler was barely in the air).

I don't think Sinckler was doing anything dangerous to another player and certainly wasn't jumping into a tackle he just work of arrived at once after catching the ball.

I think the jump was more instinctive than an attempt to jump into the tackler but it should be been allowed to pass. On our tour of Aus Haskell smashed Hooper just after he jumped to catch a pass and that was allowed.

Drop Daly

No I agree, you go ahead. Was more just an observation than a criticism.

yeah i felt it should've been played on as well, and definitely doesnt change the argument above, not really relevant in the same contexts

Shoot Farrell at dawn

Which Farrell?
both GIF

I'm sure I remember Manu scoring in the Prem 2-3 seasons ago where he dived over the top of a badly guarded ruck.

I've just listened to Jim Hamilton shrug off the question of which particluar law May's try breaks with "It's just common sense"

Edit: I can't think of an England squad related addition, I mean, what was the point as soon as Eddie announced the squad?
