[2015 TRC] Australia v New Zealand in Sydney (08/08/2015)

Well. Just a little reminder that NZ are occasionally human.

Great win for Aus. Exactly what they needed heading into the WC. I was very impressed with their front row and scrum. It's certainly not their weakness anymore. Folau is in outstanding form and Giteau is running that backline nicely.

Bit of a open and wild game for me. The WC in England will be different!

All I can say is wait for the Return match in NZ I gaurantee its men against boys. Barnes changed the shape of this game for me with what the australians were allowed to get away with at the breakdown and in general being biased due to a home crowd. He's super easily influenced and always has been.
Bahaha you mean what like Richie has gotten away with his entire career.

Geez youve lost one game and you still cant just accept it with good graces.

Stop it . You support a team that occasionally loses a game in 20, you are ****ing lucky you aren't Scottish !

We are not good, about time these get out of jail wins failed to happened. I'm glad it has, Hansen needs to wake up and realize players like SBW and Woodcock, Franks are no where near good enough to be starting.

I'm sick of seeing the same tight 5 week in week out. Franks and Woodcock are not good enough, I keep hearing that they're fine, they are not. It doesn't take a genius to notice they are poor in the scrums, they do nothing off the ball other than knock it on and are simply just old men who are not good enough. Can someone please tell me why they're still on the park? What am I missing? Honestly, it's just blatantly obvious and hard headed from Hansen to persist with these guys.

We have 1 game now before the RWC to sort our ***** and it's ridiculous, we should have our starting 15 playing tonight and get our a in to gear, we always do this before RWC and never build our combinations. Sopoanga should be starting ahead of Dan, Dan isn't up to it anymore. This is a big problem in sport in general, hanging on to the old guard out of name instead of form and who is the better choice. We are not going to win the RWC playing like this and playing the wrong players.

Really disappointed in tonights game, Aussie weren't wonderful we were just simply terrible.

A.Smith had a simply terrible game and he needs to pull his head in before the biggest tournament of his life because we can't go too England Wales playing like that.

I'm sick of hearing about this "off-load" game of SBW, it's predictable now and he offers us nothing else, apart from the odd tackle that Fekitoa is far better at. He doesn't run hard at the line at all. He's not good enough, stop persisting with him. We really missed Nonu tonight as well.

If the eye patch fits..........
Yep, as a kiwi it is embarrassing the way our supporters throw their toys when we lose. Barnes is an inconsistent ref, but tonight the Aussies played the best I've seen them in a long time. As my second favourite team this is how I've been wanting them to play for years.
Unfortunately IMO Hanson has stuck with too many of the old guard when he should have been bleeding players for 2015.
The Aussies were forced (through lack of depth) to really throw new players in and test combos. Now maybe they will flop next week - who knows? But Barnes certainly did not win this game for them.

Good on ya Aus.

Very interesting game, but also very much like our others. We start poorly, slowly grow into it and then our reserves save it in the last 20.

These really the best props NZ can put forward
Been awful

I agree its a real worry and I brought this up ages ago but everybody was like nah they're fine. Woodcock is past it and Franks has been treading water for about 2-3 years.

I agree except for SBW he's fine. The issue is our forward pack not getting the job done. Guys like A Smith will not function right behind a pack that plays like that. I thought our backrow played well considering the poor effort up front and the lineout but other than that we were very poor.

I had forgotten that this was for the Championship!!!

Agree with everything you wrote. I'd add Conrad Smith to that list. We have so many new explosive backs why were we not testing them out earlier/years ago? Why was Hanson not playing Sopoanga earlier in the year? I'm not all doom and gloom, but it is very frustrating that Hanson refused to take chances in games that didn't matter, who cares if we lost a few? SBW is not good enough, but I have never thought he was - just didn't want to join the 'haters' so kept that to myself haha.

Neither team played that well at all and how is SBW fine? One decent game vs a poor Argentina is all we've had from him, he has no creativity and falls into tackles looking for an off-load, sick of him and his press, he's not good enough, ffs.

Fact is if Australia had won more lineouts and not turned over so much of their ball in this match we could of been well thrashed in this match.

I have to mention, what performance for Skudder, put him on the plane, Dagg gets the flick and SBW.

The Wallabies beat the ABs and won the Rugby Championship. I can't believe it.

Congrats Aussies!

We're shocking at the breakdown, get Ardie Savea in there for f**k sake.
